Gforce cat replacement

Well The swap over from stock oem cats to g force epa approved cats had begun. Bought the cat delete pipes from 2m Fabricators and tig welded the cats in. Phase 2 us where it gets tricky. Welding the flange onto the header. I think in order to do the job right, it has to come off.

Is it mandatory to have 🐈 in. Your state
Province. Yes. Although there is no inspection, it's big bucks if you get caught. Noise and smell give it away.

Just curious if the oem manifold has to come off why not aftermarket headers with these cats?

Just curious if the oem manifold has to come off why not aftermarket headers with these cats?
You could but considerably more work and expense. The passenger side is a difficult chore. You need a support bar to hold up the engine as the mounts have to come off. In the end, it depends on your goals. Mine is to try and prevent a catastrophic engine failure with cats that have a high failure rate.

As Engineermike points out, it's tougher to do the job right if you don't pull the manifold. He assures me it's super simple. You can get at all the nuts. Don't have to remove the studs or motor mount. Just need enough height to work it out. Much easier to cut the cat off cleanly and square if it's on a bench. Welding is much easier and it's easier to bang the outlet round around the flange I'd. Tack it, re install, check fit, adjust, check, weld and slam everything home.

Also, my mistake. These are Gsports not Gforce. Gen 2s.
