Yes stage 1 does not require an IC so is fine with stock IC and just drop in filter. Neither modular intake tube or drop in filter will increase power at all but just add some intake sound, stage 1 tune will add some power but mainly better calibration strategy as @shogun32 stated when compared to factory tune.

Stage 2 does require IC for use, as stated read the Cobb info, there is a wealth of info on their website.

No worries thanks for replying
So there's no advantage on getting a intake tube then.
I think just getting a Cobb then try the stage 1 tune and a K&N drop in filter is all I may need for the moment
I can do other mods later on but for now just start with those

There's no performance advantage with an intake tube since the factory tube flows all the air a stock eco motor requires. There will be a bit more intake noise from aftermarket tube versus the factory tube and it looks better under the hood.

I would go with drop in filter and save for upgraded IC since that what will give you more consistent performance by keeping the charge temps lower than the factory IC. The factory IC begins to heat soak badly after just 2 back to back WOT pulls which causes the PCM to pull timing lowering power output.

Have a look on the Cobb site for AU dealers that are local to you, I shopped around till I found someone I was comfortable with. The guys at Cobb US are great but there can be issues with our fuels and the standard Cobb tunes. There are some physical restrictions with the RHD setup too around the down-pipe etc. Happy to chat if you need (but traveling in EU at the moment), as are a few of the other "down-under" crew on this board.

HI DRU842 I have been researching and have found a place in Au where I can order the access port
I dont think they are an authorized dealer cause its not listed on the cobb website but they do distribute everything Cobb related.

They are very knowledgeable and reputable they told me that the stage one Cobb tune will be fine to use on My AU EB mustang and that they have tested it on many AU EB mustangs with no issues.

Is there a way I can PM you before I pull the trigger on the access port just wanted to ask a few questions

100% yes.

I'm impressed you could get 2 back to back runs with the stock IC. I couldn't.

When I got the 2 runs it was early winter and only 50 degrees outside which is likely why I got the two very close to the same 1/4 mile runs of 13.8/13.9 at 104/103 mph.

Since you’re from Australia, why not see if anyone is tuning Ecoboosts with Australian-owned PCMTEC?

@Rolls can you shed any light on Ecoboost-specific tuners using your software?

We have a few tuners we are onboarding at the moment. One will be primarily ecoboost Focus/Mustang/Explorer in the US, and potentially Focus in the UAE/Australia via two other tuners.

Currently in Australia the Mustang Ecoboost scene is very small, the few people that do it use Cobb. We are working on switching them over.

If you have any companies using Cobb in Australia for ecoboost Mustang and you would like to give our software go let us know who they are, or alternatively get them to get in contact with us for a trial.
