What's wrong with calling around and getting on a list? Even more, what's wrong with doing that and asking about MSRP? Sure, some could probably go through this situation a bit different, but I've contacted 4 dealerships, 2 didn't contact back, one has me as #8 on the list and I haven't talked about MSRP, the other one I am waiting on a call back to see if I can be further up the list at another dealer. At that point I'll ask about ADM if they know and see when would be best to do a deposit. I don't think there is anythingn wrong with shopping around and trying to get higher up on the wait list...

For a dealer to not call back  To me it just not make good business sense. Establishing contact can lead to sale of something else. Maybe you need a truck too. Maybe a relative or friend needs a new vehicle. These sales guys are absolute idiots.

Just my 2 cents. Please do not expect to have a lot of dealerships selling these at MSRP. Most of them saying MSRP will likely not be getting a GT350 until 2016. Also if a dealership says to quickly they will do it at sticker, it may be to good to be true. I know I won't lie when I give a price, it's the price. If I take a deposit from you, you also get a written and signed buyer's order in exchange.

This is the neurotic behavior "Belobog" is talking about, stop it already, none of this is going to make a difference the dealerships see you coming a mile away.
This car is so hyped up already they are all going to initialy be selling well above MSRP then later there will be more inventory available & price's will be fair we all know this, there is a 2015 Z/28 on a local dealership lot here in mid florida sitting there now since december, guess what the price keeps getting lower & lower car just hasn't moved yet, it will as the price gets reasonable, same will hold true with the GT350 as the "hype" die's down some.

Its all about perceptions given by making these cold calls to various dealers in your area. Basically they don't take a tally of who called and how many times.... so when the question is raised among them about the interest level in the car... the straight answer in their opinion and from what they've experienced is the interest is high and this is shared among their business networks.

Ending with a declaration from those dealers of.... "wow there's so much interest here for this car we should take advantage of it and raise the prices". Even though the interest might have been from one dude simply calling all over the place.

Sad but true. Interest drives up the market value.

My goodness..I total agree, it comes down to this, if there is only 1 per dealer guaranteed, and the rest is earned through sales of other SVT products then the first year is going to be limited. Of course we will see ..the guys saying there will be plenty, and the guys who think different. I do NOT think a few calls to dealer with indication of interest, will inflate the price of the car. Those dealers get "tire kickers" every day calling, and this car will bring them out in groves. Big difference in putting down 58K large on a GT350, and just talking about it.

Also if I may add...I will bet the major of us calling is not only, can I get one, BUT most importantly can I get one at MSRP....So if your theories are true...they will take this make to there "sales Meeting" and say .." Hey there is a lot of interest ......(wait for it........) at MSRP... So they will chew on that for a while...and I think we will win in the end. The prices will not stay up there for long....thats just how it goes...remember this is a Secondary car for most of us....and we do not NEED this car, we WANT this car, most people will think twice before parting with extra cash over MRSP

Aren't you paying $1,000 over MSRP?

If you do not mind I will answer that a noon tomorrow......The sales manager gave me something in writing but it left a little to much wiggle room for them. He shook my hand and said No Mark up, MSRP not a problem, but now that Im pushing the issue to have it clearly in writing, I have not heard from him....In all fairness he did not work at the dealership this weekend, and was off today for Jury duty....(I know this because I drove to the dealer during lunch time, thinking he was 'dodging' my call)... He is a nice guy that sounded very creditable, and perhaps Im over reacting. I have a back up plan if this goes south. But it just a pain in the butt to get your deposit back etc... but I will know about noon time tomorrow....

If a dealer gave me a written guarantee to sell me a GT350 at invoice, I'd happily slap down a $5k deposit tomorrow. But I don't expect that kind of deal to be available anytime soon. Which is fine. I can wait.

R350 gt Donson...just keep moving forward. Sounds like the dealer is trying to be fair..give him the shot but just protect yourself. Everyone here would love to see you get your car EARLY and at MSRP and more power to you if you pull it off. Just protect yourself and good luck!

I am waiting until 2016 for sure. I'm hoping Ford will come up with a real HUD like in the Vette or many other cars. I also hope they'll improve the Track Apps - that PDR in the Vette is really cool.

I price up a '15 Vette as an LT2 Z51 with HUD and PDR for about $72K, so there's a good benchmark for the GT350R to come under. Even much lesser current Camaros come with a HUD and we know anything GM can do Ford can do better... :ford:

I like that. I actually drove a new C7 to lunch today so I can compare. If your waiting that will probably save you a couple grand no issues.

That's not quite how sales meeting on speciality vehicles go. Well it's true I have gotten calls about MSRP, I have also had plenty calls over MSRP. I actually care a bit about the person buying said vehicles from us though and what kind of relationship they will build with the dealership and car community.

I'm guessing the profile of a person who does buy a specialty vehicle is someone you want repeat business from. They know what they want. Can afford it and simply ask not to be screwed in the long term..or they definitely won't come back.

Then again if you look at what the GT 350 offers.... as far as vehicles go..aside from the FPC...its not so special. Its in the same performance and amenities range as cars offered from BMW and Mercedes now... maybe not so much with the interior trim level...but certainly everywhere else. It would not be unheard of for this format to eventually just become in the near future the base for what is just a Mustang GT.
