today I finished dyno tuning my gen 4 coyote swapped s550.
There is some relevant information involved in the swap so I’m putting the information out there.
As the ford gen 3 long blocks dry up this should prove to be an economical option for engine replacements.
What you will need:
A drivers side exhaust bracket. They changed the bolt pattern. I don’t know if the new header will fit our cars but using a bracket I was able to re use my long tubes. You can either make one or buy one: https://tomsoffroad.com/products/ge...T4ckS1mC-0PFBv2DznetYEGiKAYG8mRKkI7LtaaSmy2JQ
You will use the new DI injectors. They are a new design that sits at a different depth and revised spray pattern. It is compatible with our electronics, you will have to transfer your old DI pump, fuel rails and hard lines.
Transfer your gen 3 intake manifold. No one has gotten the gen 4 to work with our electronics… yet.
Transfer you heater hose neck from you old block.
Things I did that aren’t necessary but good to know:
I put Boundary gen 3 opg’s and crank sprocket in. Along with gt350 primary chains and ratcheting tensioners.
the new oil pan cleared without issue.
You will need a tune. Or you won’t have VVT.
Currently the only tuner that has successfully tuned this swap is the boys over at PBD. Huge shout out to Koby!
Happy to answer any questions!
