Ive got a 2011 GT 5.0 manual car which of course has the gen 1 5.0. It’s a high mileage motor with bad chains etc so I’m looking to install a gen 2 engine that I have in a wrecked 2016 GT Pp1 manual transmission donor car.
Question is what is the easiest way of accomplishing this? I’ve heard of using the gen 1 wiring harness and pcm and changing out the intake cams so that everything will work with the gen 1 “control pac”. Is there also a way to do this where I’d utilize the gen 2 engine harness and pcm and somehow use the tune to make any necessary changes. I’d rather use all gen 2 stuff and have the better higher lift cams Ive read that it uses as well as the variable runner manifold set up. The gen 2 setup I have is FBO E85 and has a ported 18 mani w 47 # injectors. Also will I need to switch over the gen 2 fuel pump and lines etc to be e85 compatible?
Any input/insight appreciated. I did a coyote crate motor to new edge swap in 2015 so not totally new to this but just wanted to pick you guys brains on the easiest and best way to go about this. Thank you
