Gears for the heaviest Whippled s550 with tall tires?

I just don't see the need for more gear, if it was a dog slow 2v like we had 10 years ago id say 4.30 that bish but your making 3x the horsepower. I think youre good!

What about trap speed? Better or worse with the 3.73s?
Worse because u have to shift into 5th about the 1000ft mark and that kills your et and mph.

I would do the 3.55s if I were you. I think the 3.73s will be too much IMO even with the effective calculation.

Also don't feel too bad, my car weighed 4300lbs without me in it :lol:

I have 3.73 and it blows....making a little more power but on a walmart blower

I'll go ahead and take the other side here and say I love it. I have the exact setup you're describing. MT82 and Whipple at 740hp with 305/35/20. I feel like a lot of people don't take into account the tire size and how it affects the gear ratio. Especially when the majority seem to end up with a wheel and tire size that equates to a higher effective ratio then what they started with. On the other hand, while I do some road course track days, I do absolutely zero drag racing.
