For Fathers Day, my sons gave me a 'Swann Communication' brand, set of Traffic Lights, to install in my garage.

They have an ultra sonic sensor, that can be adjusted to activate the red stop light when the car is 30, 60 or 90 cm from the wall.

Ok.

Though no good to me, being a perfectionist i need to park <5cm of the front wall to maximize walking space.

My garage has around 25 cm on the sides and 12.5 cm front and back, so it's very tight.

Heaps of space.
Not compared to what I get the the US.

Number 1 reason Americans can't park, our parking spaces are huge and if it isn't we go to the next one.

We done develop the skill to maneuver into tiny spaces.

I must have been a American in a past life :). I hate parking in tiny spaces and will go and find some place else. Besides more chance of someone opening their doors on you in a tiny space.

Trouble is, the morons in the local councils have started shrinking the parking spaces. Parked in Vic park yesterday an my GS ute hangs over at both ends when parked in these useless bays!!!

I read of a hack somewhere. Cut several solid foam swim tubes (i.e round, 1m long) in half and attach to your garage wall. Works as a bumper.

I've just done this simple mod. As long as my door opens to that area then I know I'm in far enough
