I'm more interested in the upcoming GT350. My problem now is that we have little info on that. I'm hoping sometime next year for orders to open but will they put an insane sticker on it like I hear of some of the new dodges coming out? I'm a buyer for 50-55ish anyone think I am way off? What is the process? I've seen some people saying they have already gone to the dealership to get there name down for first availability...is this something I should do as early as possible? How does the buying process even work? I put a small payment in, order it then pay and or finance after it's delivered? I plan on putting an order in the day it opens, unfortunately it's probably a ways off...
I'm sure Five Oh Brian (Ford/Lincoln dealer and member on here) will provide you with the most accurate information. He'll explain dealer allocations (I suspect it'll be similar to the current GT500 process), but I doubt any dealer has firm info on what they'll be able to order yet.

There is definitely a lack of clear info, just lots of rumours. Will it be shown next week (PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE Ford lol) or will we have to wait even longer. Seems even if its shown, it'll be a '16MY, so available some time in 2015 calendar year.

As for pricing? A pure guess on my part, but I'd suggest somewhere North of where the Boss 302 was priced, but South of the GT500. Magnetic Ride Control and Carbon Ceramic Brakes could put the cost up, but I suspect the latter would be optional, anyway.

Gameplan though? Talk to Brian and either order through him, or find a (highly) recommended dealer that's used to ordering SVTs.

Good luck :)

I hope you guys are wrong about dealers trying to charge at or above msrp when these come out. Maybe I can pit a few internet sales departments against each other. I was hoping for like $500 above invoice or something like that. But if not, I have access to X-Plan with my job and recent college grad discount of $500 from Ford so hopefully that will be a good deal. Probably be looking to purchase next februrary or march. Getting excited!

Look at the difference between the C6 Vette on its way out and the C7 Vette on its way in. C7 was getting discounts on non-Z51 versions, but Z-51's were pretty tough to get at anything other than MSRP. And GM raised the prices by a few grand recently as well.

If the S550 is as much an improvement over the S197 as the C7 was over the C6, you might see high demand for quite some time. If you can get the X-plan price and maybe a student discount, you might want to take that. Will be interesting to see how the car is received.

Yeah you're right. I guess now I just need to find out if x-plan will be available right away on the new mustang. Its not available on current Shelby's. They may remove it from all mustangs when the new models come out.

It is the dealerships choice. Ford just doesn't require them to on mustangs at all.
