Kudos on picking up Gizmo.
I just recently picked up a 50 mm for my Canon. I've been playing around with also. Really like how it can blur out the background and set the subject off nicely.

I missed this on the first past...VERY cool you picked Gizmo up!

I'm working on the chromatic abberations(funky blue around her iris) but it's a bit out of my abilities right now and fairly rare so I don't really care. Looks cool IMO. I only just yesterday figured out how to correct for lens distortion at wide focal ranges in photoshop.
