Not enough difference between the 19 and 20 models to differentiate the 2

When it comes to overall long term collectibility and value, it will not even be close with the 2015 GT350R model being in a class of its own and whether the 31 Electronic Package or 6 Base R models are more desirable is up for debate.

From a specific vehicle standpoint the two most valuable GT350R models of the 3,647 units produced will be F0001 and followed by LR280 (HE and not the Red badge LR280) based on its 1 of 1 unique build for the 280 regular production HE R models.

Agreed that F0001 and LR280 will probably not be available to us enthusiasts but certainly F0002 to F0037 may be?

Did F0037 not sell at auction a few years back?

Aside from the above PPR001 might be a great candidate as well which is a 2020 GT350R model and had some seat time in that unit a couple weeks ago and a pretty cool car?

While true there are not many differences between the 2 model years (updated steering from the 500, and 4 new colors), the 2020 being the final model year is what matters the most. Also it's worth pointing out that there were 806 GT350R's built in 2019. Only 422 GT350R's were built in 2020. This of course is excluding the Heritage edition, which we've seen in the current market the Heritage R is in it's own class and should not be considered a standard R.

We've already seen a difference in used prices between the two years and I think that will continue.

When looking back after through rowing through the gears of PPR001 recently, I found it quite remarkable how you and the owner of the above vehicle are so much alike.

You both love GT350R Kona Blue vehicles, both own 2020 models, both of your vehicles are unique and rare, you both are in the same profession and are pretty much the same age.

As a side note, the rarest exterior color for the 135 GT350R Base models built over the 4-year production run just happens to be Kona Blue therefore your two vehicles are in some pretty awesome company.

Tony, speaking of KR001, you have to love a Race Red/Black painted roof combination for this 2019 GT350R as it is stunning!

Also don't know if PP001 may ever become available for sale but I would purchase the very first Pilot Production Shelby GT350R model in a heartbeat as it was built back in April 2015 as a 2016 R model and came with the Electronic Package and Absolute Black exterior paint with Black vinyl OTT stripes.

This might've been answered before, but did Ford rename Absolute Black to Shadow Black, or are they technically different color/variations? My Shadow Black '20 R has subtle metallic flakes when in direct sun light, it's looks great up close.

They have the same paint code G1. Ebony Black, paint code UA, preceded Absolute/Shadow and is a different color.

Having researched it, if you take out the HEP models, the standard R get a little more money. But it is one year newer

Yep - but def some subjective value for many in final model year, even if no major changes. Not as special as 2015, that goes without saying, but if I could buy a 2015 or 2020 at the exact same price, I’d personally take 2020 all day knowing I’m keeping the car for my personal enjoyment and not price speculation.

Black roof fully painted or that vinyl? I’m not as familiar with that option…looks so good on certain colors, meh on others…but that red w black roof had me drooling.

Was referring to black roof options generally - coming from the BMW community, CF roofs have been options on many M cars over the years and I personally think some colors / specs look amazing with it, and others less so. For example, red/black looks amazing to me, but white/black can look a bit too stark / storm trooper for some. Color is subjective.

And yes, to each their own on the model year, but since I’m owning this car forever, I prefer the MY with the most benefit from the evolution (albeit small) and adjustments over the years. That’s all. I know we can debate the impact of those changes greatly, but to me, in aggregate, it’s enough to lean to the 2020.
