Fuel system help

I’m removing my return fuel system for now , and this piece will not come off. It’s like something missing I’m not sure. A shop put it on for me. Is there something to take it off with ? I tried fuel disconnects from the parts store. None are small enough to get it off. Also how can I get the fuel pump lock ring to sit back right , it’s being a pain to get it back seated.

The bottom half of the fitting should unscrew.

Use a fuel pump ring removal tool to set the ring back in place.

As Blackedoutdreams mentioned it's a two piece fitting. You can secure the bottom of the fitting and unscrew the top portion which will allow you to remove the fitting completely.
