Finally getting the mustang tinted tomorrow. Was advised by a friend to get a light front windshield tint, but not exactly sure how dark I can get away with. Wanted to hear from those who have, how dark or light I should go with. Thanks in advance guy s:thumbsup:

I think 50% tint on the front windshield is as dark as you would want to go and not grab the attention of the cops. Also, I hope you are getting ceramic tints and not some cheap dyed tints.

I'm running 35% tint on my door windows and windshield and Limo tint in the rear and small side windows. Looks nice in my opinion and perfect for hot summer days. You can tell it's tinted and no issues driving at night. Cops have been nice about it and not pulled me over when they see me. Here's a couple of pics.

I didn't do the front windshield tint due to a toll tag sticker and the registration stickers. The Formula One Stratos already set me back $600 for maximum heat protection. It was another $200 for the front windshield to be done with a less thick film.

If you are going to get the windshield done, skip the tint strip. It does nothing on these cars. Since full windshield tint is ILLEGAL IN ALL STATES except Ohio and North Dakota. They allow 70%., it would be foolish to get 35 or even 50 on the windshield. Imo, I'd go 80%. Highly recommend 3m crystalline tint for the windshield. It's pretty much undetectable to the naked eye.

Key is what's enforced, not what's legal in your area. From some one that has been in his driveway scraping off tint, (different car) know these things. And I've been pulled over and had the meter used on my drivers glass that was done w 35%. Cop read it at 31% and called it good enough but you get the AHole with a boner for tint and it's legally in violation.

I always viewed tints as something cops hate for their own safety and it is just another excuse for a pull over to "check".

I give them as few as possible reasons to pull me over.

Where i live its really hot in the summer so i use nano carbon window tints 40% sides and 35% rear and its doing great job really. The reason i went with 40% is i don't wanna get pulled over all the time for "checking" purposes. For some reasons our cars tend to be "cop magnet"

Update: Went in this past weekend and everything came out great. Got 18 all around and 80 on the windshield. I'll post some photos later in the week, the rain kept me from getting some good shots. Thanks to everyone for their input :D

I have 3m crystalline 70% in the front.. love it. Recently had a mustang as a rental(mustang was in for warranty on seat leather) and it was hella bright with no tint anywhere.
