Yes, that's also true :D
The all-in-one solution is the easiest way to go.

But you also can buy DD's LED and ship them to the third party to mount them inside the lights and you can save few cents :)
this is also tru, BUT we have no knowledge of failure events for the all-in-one solution; instead, we have at least one case of drivers failure for the DD ones.

But again, the best part is that we have the freedom to choose the one we want! And two solutions are better than one

I think, maybe I'm wrong, the drivers on the first version were only to power supply the RGBW option.

Maybe on this new version, they removed this driver and provide something else as now the LED's are only white, so easier to manage.
But in fact, we'll still see a driver as they need something to dimm the lights at night ...

99,9% of people can't do that by themselves.

With both solutions, if you have a problem with the LED's, you have to open the headlights again to solve it.

If you have a driver problem (like I had), then you don't need to open the headlights (if you don't put them in the lights...)
This is important to consider- we have sold nearly 600 sets of the LED boards for the Mustang, and to my knowledge, we have never had an LED failure. A few drivers here and there, but even that is extremely rare, to be honest.

Our new switchback LED kit comes with a new driver that is completely digital and has a ton of features to keep it running reliably for a very long time. We really took our time in testing and developing it.

It's also way brighter than the multicolor setup. I know you guys were joking about the "visible in daylight" but these boards have a true 1050 lumen output when on DRL mode. The factory fog light is 550 lumens. They are extremely bright.

Thanks!

But before you order DD's new boards, please wait until you see their first video.

On the first version of the boards, they had a "hyper flash" of the turn signal and the end of the last bar. We need to see if they solved this "problem", maybe it's not a problem and I'm too picky again lol

John is right. I would also wait and se the failure rate because especially on first revisions they sometimes had some issues.

Edit: just noticed I wrote "tribad" instead of "tribar" in thread title :eyebulge: Fixed!

Nick,

Yes, we were joking about the visibility in daylight but sadly it's not really a "joke" for us. Our crappy EU rules are so bad that we need high powered LED's to be considered as DRL.

Your first version of the boards (like I have on the car) can sadly not be considered here in the EU as DRL, although, they can be considered as parking light or they have the perfect output for the dimmed option for night use. But for that, we need something else for the DRL use.

Your new boards have the perfect design for us now.

Wait & see the first installations and your first videos showing how they work.

Cheers

They offer special EU drivers so the turning sequence should be fix I guess :)

If you want to see the failure rate then you have to wait again 1 year before you'll install the boards ...
I think, wait to see the videos and pictures, then decide to install the boards or not

lol "tribad" or "tribar" is the same ...
