I've lived in TX for over 30 years, and never an issue with no front plate. Well, for the most part. Have been harassed a little by troopers when traveling, but no tickets yet (hope it stays that way
). I try to carry the plate on a bracket that doesn't require drilling, so I can quickly attach it if needed. On the F-150, it just snapped on, so that was nice. On most other cars, it's the tow-hook kind, but surprisingly, the Mustang does NOT have a freaking tow hook, so no dice. No way I'd put an under-bumper one with a car so low, so the only option for me would be to put double-sided tape on the plate itself and attach it to the bumper if ever needed (hope not).
