They’re massive and preventing me from running center caps on my front wheels.

Can I rip them off? I’m talking about the plastic black thing on the front hubs. If my wheel/center cap is making a good seal I should be okay right? My rear ones are spotless internally but fronts are gross. Lug nuts are starting to get surface rust because of the open center cap.

If I can’t (rather: if removing them is going to reduce the longevity of my front hub) I might rock a 8mm spacer with extended lugs.

Then again my front hubs are a little rusty and gross looking. Might be time to pull the trigger on new clean ones from OPMustang.

Also of note: the REAR hub does not have a dust cap. You can see the exposed axle bolt

Thanks GT350Brakes.com I’m going to give it a shot. I’ll get a wire brush for my drill and make sure the hub is cleaned up real well.

Anyone else have insight or experience doing this?
