I recently removed my APR splitter, and replaced it with the cervinis lip. I then realized i threw away my stock/plastic belly pan previously.

Now, I'm driving the car without the belly pan. If I press the front bumper on the front and sides, there's a bunch of flex action going on. Plus, the belly pan goes for $250!!!

1. Would driving the car without the belly pan be harmful in any way, aside from the front bumper flexing?
2. Is anyone driving the car without any splitter/belly pan?

Thanks guys! :)

I've been going strong without mine for 20k+ miles and have had no problems other than the excessive flexing of the bumper, and the engine bay seems to dirty up a bit quicker. Personally, I countered the bumper flex with some bumper tie downs. hey fomoco F your $250 piece of plastic lol. I feel ya bro.

No belly pan last 10,000 miles.

I imagine there is some aero properties associated with the belly pan. Daily street driving you prob wont notice but on the highway or on the track you might see some decreased front aero. Its there for a reason Im sure otherwise ford engineers wouldnt have added it(beyond just bumper support). Maybe an engineer could chime in?

I would imagine it adds rigidity to the lower front bumper/splitter tying it to the frame as well as aero on the highway.

Im sure it also provides quite a bit of splash protection in terms of puddles, deeper standing water, etc.

Will your car die without it? Likely not. Better to have it though. Im SURE you can find a used one somewhere for a few bucks.

Keeps crap getting into the engine area. Has significant aero properties at speed. Yes, I believe it is necessary. If it wasn't - let's be honest here - Ford wouldn't have spent the money on including one, especially a different one for PP cars.

In reality you don’t need a belly pan. Yes things may get up inside of your engine bay but I’ve been driving for over about 120 K without one and I haven’t had any issues.

Except for aerodynamics on the track and that’s why am going to get one.

I purchased my wife's 2016 without an engine splash shield and did notice there was more hood flutter at highway speeds (and above). After installing a new splash shield, the hood flutter is mostly gone.

I've had other cars that would overheat without the belly pan as the air would enter the grills and just go under the car.

Not been running mine for over 2 years. Supercharged, lots of high speed pulls, no issues.

Well that maybe so but I don’t know how many people on here to actually drive that car for Rayle. You know you’re a lot of hearsay people say they know whatever. But I’m just telling you what based off experience. Currently on my 2015 I have 180 K miles on my car and I’ve been driving with no belly pan for over 120 K. I’m just saying LOL with no issues.
