Hello; Just finished watching the Mexico race from a recording. Ferrari surprises again. Not that they had a fast set of cars but, to me, more so they did not foul up the strategy.
Not clear to me what happened to Max both in terms of his actions and the penalties parsed out. He made some risky & aggressive moves to be sure. Norris was racing equally hard. Guess it was down to where the actions happened. I seem to recall similar close racing over time between drivers with one or the other getting pushed off the track.
Not sure i can ever recall a 20 second penalty. I do not try to memorize such things so if any of you do keep track can you recall such? I do not intend to defend Max. As many on here have mentioned before i just want the rules enforced evenly. We already have that flaky umpire calling the world series games strike zones. F1 ought to be better.
From what I heard, after Austin there were a lot of calls to tighten up the punishments for pushing a car off the track, and the car in front at the apex gets the benefit of the doubt no matter the outcome, so we (according to the commentators on F1TV) have people bleeding off the brake pedal and deliberately going deep to make sure they are the one in front at the apex and leave it to the stewards to sort it out. Lando was in front on both occasions (according to the rules) and was run out of road twice, hence the two hefty penalties, I think the first one should have been 5 seconds at the most but the second was justified. Made Lando lose out on 2nd and third possibly costing him any chance at a win. I think Carlos probably had everything under control anyway so maybe a moot point.

Hello; So, the bosses are continuing to change the rules race to race is what it sounds like.

I agree the first one only deserved a 5 second penalty but the second one deserved a stop & go. It was blatant and dangerous. Of course, nothing new for Max. He just didn’t need to do this when he leading a race by double digits.

It’s only funny until he gets someone killed. But, that said, I’m hoping this whole matter gets resolved before the lights go out in Brazil.
If the stewards keep giving him 10 second penalties he'll quit.

Interesting question. The first is possible, I guess, but this is the way he drives. Always has. Will he be willing to change to stay in F1. Only he can answer that.
Eventually you figure out that 20 second penalties are hard to come back from. The rest of the pack has caught up quite a bit since last year.

So the question is

A. Can he change his driving style (or is it even possible at this point)? or
B. Is he actually willing to do so? (If not what does that say about his future in F1)

The penalty has always been 10 seconds, of course stewards can change that, but it's always been 10 seconds and is in the rule book, Appendix L, Chapter IV, Article 2 b. The reason the week before and Lando only got a 5 sec instead of 10 sec penalty is because he was forced off.

Max has always had that deep braking/let off the brake to hit the apex first, even if it means blowing the corner and driving the opposing car off the track. Only difference now is its Lando he is doing it to instead of Lewis. Max is fast when he has a car, and a great racer, but when he has to battle with just about anyone gloves come off and he goes right back to the racer that earned the nickname "Crashtappen".

Would have been cool if other teams were represented to.
If you haven't done so before, check out Target some time; they sell the bBurago cars individually. I've also noticed a handful at Walmart.

eBay would be a good option, if looking for something unique or no longer in shops.

But you can’t beat $29.99 for six cars. Funny though that Costco only has Red Bull left. 🤣😂
