Hey Guys, I'm installing a Fore Innovations fuel rail on my 2016 mustang. I have it setup in series which should be fine for my power output. I'm putting the 180 degree slim elbows on the front of the rails and using them to feed in fuel to the rail, cross over via the 90 degree elbows in the back and then out of the second 180 degree elbow I'm going to plumb into the high side of the FPR, then out the low side into the tank.

However i noticed the Fore rails came with some new hardware. I got absolutely no fuel rail instructions with my kit, there isn't a single page about it. So I don't know what the point of the new hardware is. The rails seem to touch the factory mounting holes so I don't think you're meant to use the washers as spacers.

Any ideas what these are for vs. the factory hardware?

Fore sends their own rail hardware. I would use it

Yea I just can't tell what's different about it except the hex head and the length of the thread. It comes with two washers per bolt and Im not sure if one is meant to be used as a spacer or something but it doesn't seem necessary.

Probably wouldn’t hurt to just use the single washer, and not the spacer. Maybe call Rick at Fore

In case anyone is wondering, I talked to Justin at Fore today who was super nice and knowledgeable. He explained the material on the rails is thin due to the need to clear various configurations. The purpose of the washers is to spread the load of the bolt head to make the install safer. The large washer should go on top of the rail and the small right under the head of the bolt. This makes a ton of sense and I totally didn't think of that. Luckily that's how I ended up doing it over the weekend anyway.

Hah, yea it felt right and everyone probably does it the same way we did it. I'm probably the weird paranoid guy that actually called them to ask. I get fixated on stuff a little.

Thanks for the photo MikeyPee. Instructions from Fore would be nice. Didn't realize when ordered the fuel rail kit that the cross over line needed to be cut to length and install the fittings yourself. What's the best method for cutting the lines?

I don’t know if it’s the best method, but I used heavy duty cable cutters with electrical tape and a sharpie to reshape the line

That type of cutter will cut PTFE in one shot. Sure beats trying to take a hacksaw at it, which I tried at first
