The Ford survey asks if your sales person explained the Sync/MyFord/Nav stuff. I did not get 1 second explanation . I hope I will be able to figure it out myself

yes. Then they usually ask if you will give them ALL perfect scores when you receive the customer survey.....it happened to me recently, and they forgot to install my new wipers. so to make it up to me, the service tech, gave to me for free, because I had to drive back to the dealer.

You don't have too. Ford has a site which will walk you through everything. They have videos which will show you how to operate SYNC as well as other electronic toys.

Here is the link: http://support.ford.com

You will have to register and set up an account which is simple. Hope this helps.

I think its Ford policy to set up an appointment a few days after purchase thats specifically for Sync.

Side note- did your salesperson tell you to give them a perfect score for the survey? I hate it when people ask this!

Me too. And it seems to happen a lot lately in every profession that deals with the public...

The survey takes 2 seconds, doesn't cost you anything, and obviously means a lot to the sales people. If you genuinely had a nice experience why not just do it? I personally had a great experience so I didn't mind doing it one bit.

They mention it because if they get anything but a perfect score it hurts them. If they ask for a perfect scores I say "Do you think you deserve it?" If they say yes and I agree I give them the score...if I don't agree I let them earn it right on the spot. Always good to give hem a shot though

We got not asked. Rick from Kentwood Ford "told" us to vote excellent. That's what I hate. And I did give a true survey what isn't excellent at all for them. Will see how the warranty issues getting fixed.

This is absolutely a pet peeve of mine. "Anything less than a perfect score is a failing score"

I usually think "Really? Then your scoring system is broken."

And for the record, pimping for specific answers isn't a survey, it's a push poll.

I have a friend who repairs copiers and he says the same thing. Anything but perfect is a negative. It is really sad that we expect perfection when it is almost never given. I end up giving good scores most of the time because stop them before they finish teaching. I would usually just rather teach myself than have to listen to someone telling me.

I'm in management at a chemical plant. We shoot for zero injuries. Perfection. We used to have targets that was a little better than industry average. One day someone asked "why are we setting targets to hurt someone? Why are we not targeting zero, send no one one home hurt". It was eye opening. If you don't strive for perfection, you will
never attain it. If the dealership isn't shooting for you to answer it perfect, then they aren't doing their best.

While I can relate to this very much (I work in the oil and gas industry where we also have a "Goal Zero"), asking to fill out a certain outcome on a survey sounds like: "Let's don't and say that we did.". The real and proper question should be: "What else can we do to get you to give us an excellent score?"
