Ford Racing sells these for the Mustang somehow it knows what gear it's in.

2005-2014 Mustang Digital Shift Knob
It'd be a pretty easy math algorithm comparing speed and RPM to figure out which gear is currently selected.

If you leave it on DTE, does it default to that when you turn it off and start it up again?

Actually, having some of the data/gauges from the small screen show into the large Sync screen would be awesome.

That was one of the first questions I was asked when giving people rides... How come you can't show those in the middle screen.

I leave it on this screen for normal driving and it stays. Sorry for the burry pic. Actually pretty cool screen instant fuel econ, avg, and DTE!

why do you need a digital speedo when there is a GIGANTIC analog one? Digital displays are annoying as the numbers constantly change. Analog you always know what ballpark your in even with a slight glance...theres the needle

I don't see why this is an important safety issue. I can see the safety advantage with HUD, that way you don't need to take your eyes off the road. But if you're looking down anyway, what's wrong with the analog speedo? It seems large and easy to read.

A gear indicator for the manual would be cool.

That's the problem with a needle. It's a ballpark number. After having it in my Audi I rely on it. And especially when on track you can get a very quick speed check through corner, at finish etc. You don't have to use it but it definitely should be included in the Gauge choices.

Odd comparison... Glancing at the middle digital display to see a big "65" would also tell you you're in the "65 ballpark". :)

I'm with OP--my current car has a digital display in the middle that includes MPH and I find it much more convenient and easier to read at a glance than the analog display. Besides, it's an extremely easy feature to add and if you don't like it, don't use it?

Please program Gauge Mode in center dash to include Digital Speed Display. This is an important safety feature. I see there is a screen now dedicated to only display distance to empty. This screen can easily be upgraded to show large digital speedo. DTE is also shown on about 3 other screens! Please make dealer update available as most cars included this feature today. Thanks!

BONUS Feature: Show current gear selection (manual) on display as well.
Jeez... I can't believe I'm seeing this! I thought for sure there would be digital speed display on the info screen.

I can kinda see the speed gauge, but a gear display? Did you not just put it in whatever gear you chose? LOL
