Speedo

Sorry for jumping on late and I'm sure there are similar comments and questions.

Honestly I don't see the point of a digital speed display right beside an analog one.
I also see zero safety benefit.
I'm sure many, if not most people on here drive with the flow of traffic and shift based on feel. I only look at my speedo on open roads with no traffic to make sure I haven't accidently exceeded the posted speed by too much.

use speedo - only in open roads or areas known for speed traps
use tach - only when pushing the car, otherwise I go off feel.

I haven't used a digital speedo in years but on my old GrandPrix GTP (HUD) and 300ZX the digital display was always slower than the actual acceleration.
On the 300ZX it would cause a bump off of redline around 400-600rpm early.

Do you need a digital watch also to check the time?
When I'm in a comfortable driving position, there is a parallax problems with the speedometer needle. At least I'm not speeding, but am going a couple miles slower than I thought. Because the Speedo and Tach aren't canted or adjustable to be canted in my line-of-sight, there are errors. Digital speed is accurate right now. I don't have to hunt the Speedo and try and make out what the needle says. I have to use reading glasses and it's still a problem.

I would like to know if the Engineering Mode goes away when you switch modes and you need to restart the car to get it back.

Move that thing out of front and center for us MT guys and put the tach (larger) and in its proper place (center). Whoever thought the lower left for a tach was a good place......

A gauge to tell you what gear you're in with a MT?! Geez.... Obviously not mc riders....

My speedo is always off 2 or 3 miles or maybe it's my viewpoint angle. The number my cruise control is always different from what the speedometer apears to be on, I'll even lean my head over to get a straight on view still is off. Distance to Empty is not a very useful number, pretty inaccurate for my GT. If im on the highway number is too low if I'm on the streets number is too high. It's giving me the same info as the fuel gauge basically...

The digital speedo would be great for us 6'+ drivers. The steering wheel sits directly over top of 40-100 mph and I have to either duck down or lean way over to see even close to what my speed is. The tach being off center and hidden is fine. I haven't had to watch my tach outside of the first few drives to figure out shift timing based on speed and sound. The programing already exists for the digital speedo alol they need to do is make it a normal driving option and put a pony under it.

Tach on Right

I have to say, I really hate the Tach on the left. That's the one thing that I really don't like. I'm so used to it being on the right in my S197's and no matter how I adjust my driving position and the steering wheel, my arm gets in the way of my view of it.

I also agree with the OP that a digital speedo should be very easy to implement on the center screen.

You're in Luck, JoeDog, The Owner's Manual shows it right where you want it.

Must have been missed by the editor.
