Ford Performance Tuner from previous owner.

My car had a tune on it when I bought it. I had no idea what that tune was or who put it on there. I recently decided to get a Wengerd tune just to make sure I knew something proven was on there. Once we pulled the data, Wengerd noted that the tune was a Ford performance tune. So at least it was a good one that had been on there all that time.

Wengerd's tune seems to be a notch better though. It lost the natural decel burble that I liked, but the trade off is less engine rpm rolloff which helps between shifting gears in the mt82. Low speed driving is also improved.

Did you have to flash back to stock before tuning with the Wengerd? (Never heard of them, will look into)

I would enjoy it until you are ready to start more modding and then you will just have to bite the bullet and pay a dealer to flash the PCM back to the stock tune before you use another tuning device. Most dealers charge 1 hour labor, but some greedy ones may want 2 hours labor.

The RTD+ devices are able to program the ECM that has a Ford tune already on it. When using this you don't need to get ford to flash back to stock.

Its not just the Ford tunes. Any tune that doesn't have the OSID locked (looking at you Lund...) can be saved as the new "stock" tune and something else can be put on top of it. My last car had some unknown shop tune on it and was still able to make that my "stock" tune and put the Wengerd on it.

Saving the FP tune or any tune as a stock tune is not the same as going back to the actual "as built" calibration that came from ford. It may work but could also cause issues down the road possibly.

We do not need reads to tune. No matter what read we recieve we will build your tune from the as built data or latest os avaliable for that vehicle since as built is what it left the factory with before Ford released any pcm updates.

We don't care what is on the car as our tune will over write anything that is in it. We have every os on these so can also supply stock files even if you have no stock tune
