Does anyone know if you can install the Ford gauges that are included in the performance package on the Ecoboost without the package?

I purchased the gauge cluster for my Ecoboost turbo and wanted to know what it would take to get them installed.

Does anyone know the wiring harness part number for the gauges? I found some information, however, not sure how accurate it is.

Wiring System Electrical - Part # 14B242A or 14B242B?

Thank you

you would also need the new dash trim that has the cutouts for the 2 gauges. CJ Pony parts has a video how to add the gauges

Checked out CJ Pony Parts, however, that's for an existing car already with the gauges. I'm looking for to install in my Mustang that didn't have the performance package.

there are tons of threads about this. It looks to expensive a process. you need the trim and gauge cluster (1600 dollars) and then nobody is even sure if the wiring harness is there. I checked when I vinyl wrapped my dash trim and didn't see anything.
so yeah. not very likely to happen. probably wait for an a pillar gauge cluster to come out and go with that. should be out after sema.

I was able to purchase the gauge cluster for $125 on eBay and CJ Pony parts has it for $249. Depending on which wiring harness is needed ( Part # 14B242A or 14B242B) each one is approximately $50.00 at the dealership. Not sure how much the trim would be. Would you happen to know the parts required to make it happen?

Thank you.

unfortunately I do not. I gave up hope on this because I found the trim on ebay for 1300 dollars. Fordparts.com has everything you need.
if you do this, please do a write up in the DIY section and tag me in it. :headbang:
ill look around for part #'s too.

Definitely want to know the answer to this as well as I'd like to swap the dash on my GT to the PP dash eventually.

You'll need the center dash trim piece, replacing one of your three AC vents with gauges.

It stands to reason that assembly line economics would dictate that a single wiring harness be used, so you're likely (but not certain) to find extant wiring tucked away that will be used for the gauges. I'm not sure of this, however.

That said, why don't you find out? It's not a difficult process to remove the dash trim, and you can find out for yourself if the harness has a pigtail for the gauges there.

I have checked. I didn't want to mush the plastic that is the middle vent out of the way too much and risk breaking it. I did not see anything....

I got the parts reasonably cheap. My service manager thought the same thing, that there should be an easy hookup or pigtail there for the gauges.

Turns out there are literally 100 different main wire harness's depending on what options your car has. Don't believe me? Go to Fordparts.com and see for yourself.

In order to do the swap, you have to remove the entire dash assembly, replace the main harness with the proper harness, replace the inner dash shell with the two outlets, replace the middle outer shell with the two outlets, then install the new gauges/dash trim.

About $1500+ labor alone. Then you have to buy the matching trim around the headlight switch and the lower passenger trim.

For sale: PP dash with Eco gauges and GT gauges. $600 for all.

Can the LEDs be changed on these gauges? Just looking to change the color of the lights I have a base mustang no my color, but wanted to change the white lights on the gauges themselves, do the gauges have actual LED bulbs or are they soldered to the board?
