Hey guys,

I wanted to install a driver side catch can on my 2021 GT, but noticed that there is none offered by Ford Performance.
They only offer it for GT350 and EcoBoosts, but not for GTs - anybody knows the reason to that?

There is the M-6766-A50A for the passenger side, but I cannot find any for the driver side.
Is it not needed on the GTs (due to what reason? natural aspiration?)?

I don't want to go with aftermarket parts since I like the OEM/stock look.

Thank you in advance,
Vaga

The drivers side breather tube is the "intake" portion of the system. Air is flowing towards the motor on the drivers side when the throttle is closed and vacuum is present in the intake manifold. This is why it is plumbed into the air intake pipe, after the air filter. The passenger side is where the vacuum in the intake manifold sucks the air/fuel/oil vapors out of the crankcase and dumps it back into the intake manifold. Don't bother with a Drivers side catch can for NA setups.

Forced induction however, pressurizes the crank case because some of the boost pressure in the cylinders will always make it past the piston rings which will be forcing air/fuel/oil vapors out of both the passenger and drivers side vents. If FI, best to have a vented catch can that ties to both valve covers, and cap the intake manifold port on the passenger side. This way 0% of the blowby schmeg goes into the motor.

Its mostly true that the drivers side is not needed. For the record, the 15-17 GTs can under some rare circumstances which you'll probably only see on a racetrack, they can blow a ton of oil through the drivers side PCV, due to the valve cover baffle designs (which are improved to fix that on like all other later models).

Unless you're tracking a 15-17 you should be good with just a passenger side Ford unit.
