It shouldn't be this hard to remove 5 plug nuts. Simple brake job turning into more than I wanted.

i've been using some open end lug nuts i bought off ebay for years on my old car and now this car (new set same brand) and after many removals/reinstallations and tons of hard miles they've never given me issues and look great. i generally like open end lug nuts because i had seating issues with the stock lug nuts on aftermarket wheels back in the day. i never felt they torqued down correctly and had some mild shimmy/wobbling at higher speeds i wasn't comfortable with. the open ended lug nuts solved that.

these:

i went with gold just because it looks good on my gray wheels/car

They look identical to my 2018 F-150. Read horror stories about them, so replaced them right away with Gorilla 61148CXs, which have an even greater surface area (very important). They use the same socket/wrench (13/16s). Here is a photo of both:

Just swapped my stock ones out for Gorillas after I had to cut one off (OEM) the wheel stud a few weeks ago.

Those stock Ford lug nuts are capped and a real pain. I changed all of mine to Gorilla as well.

The Focus RS has the same crappy lugs - not quite 20 mm, but more like 19.5 - whatever - swap them out for good steel lugs at a size you actually have socket that fits.

+1 Gorilla!
Have them on my PP rims the colors slightly off. Flat matte black but if you dont really notice the difference from far! These are far superior quality over OEM.

Hey, my pleasure. You guys have been GREAT to me, answering all my questions about GTs, and then some. So that's the least I could do :D. They also have them in black, for you guys with black wheels. Those are the ones I'd need if I end up with a GT with the black package. That part number for those is 61148BCX, so just the added 'B' for black. Hope this helps too :).

And this is why the first mod I did was replace the stock lug nuts with one piece Gorilla's. Think I did that in the first week of ownership. Heard the horror stories and decided I did not want to roll those dice

same here..

first weekend i had rokblokz front and rear and new black gorllia locking lug nuts installed, wasnt something i wanted to chance.. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N4VSVYG/

imo the black lugs look a lot better than the chrome that came on my PP1 wheels

Yeah, I went through the same crap, finally decided on wheels about when I needed lugs, so as you might expect went aftermarket, deep, open ended from Monster (Makin), 50BV30 forged, pretty neat, they make colored endcaps for a nice finishing touch.

I used McGards much better quality than the OEM nuts.
