Just wondering if anyone uses the lap time app that comes with the mach 1 or other mustangs(is it any good) or if it is better to download phone app.

I am still new to the track and this will be my 3rd and 4th hpde session so I don't need anything crazy but wanted to see the improvement I am making.

Did not even know there was a Ford lap time app. I don't know anyone that uses it. Conversely, I know quite a few people who use Chevy's built-in lap timer.

Track Addicts phone app works really quite well for a free app. Can't go wrong there.

Lap times are pointless for a beginner and not a good metric of driver progress at that level.
Just work on your lines, apexes and braking points

Eh, yes and no.
I agree but by the 3rd or 4th event, you should have the essentials down already. Simple video playback to review later can be helpful.
"Oh shoot, I missed that apex by a mile" or "wow, I really am getting on the gas way too early."
