Why does it not Surprise me...
Gibbo205 who was the company who messaged you saying they could get parts to you within the week - maybe worth getting Ian their details, and hopefully insurance will accept cost of parts and allow a ford garage to fit them.

Parts supply will never be sorted, dealers don't want to hold onto stock of anything because they have to pay for them outright and they may not get used.
They don't even hold stock of oil filters! hence why i bought several from Walmart while i was in the states earlier this month.

The 2 filters I've bought so far have both turned up at the dealer the next day. I would've thought filters for the Ecoboost would've been even easier to come by since that engine is in the Focus as well.

Ian do you have to use a Ford dealer? If not speak to Mike at Modurstang and see if Nick will do insurance work. I bet Mike can get panels from the states quicker and cheaper than Ford tbh.

If you want I can ask later for you as I'll be collecting my car from Nick today hopefully if it's all done.

This is total BS, body parts are now in stock in the EU warehouses on 3-5 day delivery time, most mechanical parts are also stocked. The issue seems to be down to staff/people, I actually reckon the oil cool gaskets I required were in stock all the time, just no one had the intelligence. As when the new guy took over he got those same gaskets in days.

I know they are far from you but Bristol Street Ford bodyshop in Stoke-on-Trent are very good and seem to be able to get parts. If you know exactly the parts your car needs to complete repair, maybe give them a call (ask for Dominic) and give him the list and find out how long to get the parts and if they would undertake the repair, though no idea how you'd get car to them and if insurance would cover transportation?

Crazy. Wouldn't it be good to introduce the insurers to Mr Common Sense ! "Approved" bodyshop with courtesy car they'll have to pay for for weeks whilst they fanny about getting the parts or alternatively use a specialist that can get the parts quickly and reduce the hire car cost.

Normally approved repairers would be more than just Ford dealers.
Also, many independent repairers will offer their own car

Probably forgot about you at this rate.

It's an effing joke. There must be a central 'Stock' of parts ford holds, that Each dealership can buy from?

Yeah certainly each bodyshop wont hold the items, that'd be ludicrous unless it's a common item that they use consistently, Paint, bolts, pins, oil etc. But body parts - Should be in some central warehouse...

Ian, have you tried just going straight to the top? (Aka Andy).

The feb part you're waiting on was what? Rear bumper???

Seems absolutely BS that they haven't got a part requested 7 months ago, a new car could have been ordered and built by then.

speak to Customs Exotics
Brett or Scott, they do a lot of insurance work, and they are Top Quality, Yes the parts have to come over by boat. But your car will be better than it was before the accident

Parts Distribution Centre in Daventry. It's a warehouse almost as big as the town itself :)
(well, not really, but it's f-ing huge)
