Hi,

My car is still driving over the atlantic. But once its here and registered im just checking for the best places to take it for services ( not Ford ) good mustang specialists or upgrade centers etc.

I am based out of leamington Spa but ok to travel around. When I had specialist cars before I used to often take them to a garage and make a day out to leave it and go back. So distance does not bother me. just want a good and reasonable place to go for checkups, upgrades etc.

Any hits are most welcome.

Thanks,

Wayne

My vote goes to GT101 in Colchester.
Even though I am in North Wales (286 miles away) I have used them for all work for the last three years and have been more than pleased.
Never do unnecessary work and great for advice too.

There is also these and even closer https://www.modurstang.co.uk/ Not used them myself but have heard numerous good reports
well that one is very close to me in Leamington Spa. Its just down the road basically. Awesome. Thanks

They are close to you it seems. Why have you not used them? where do you take yours?

I try and do as much as I can myself and I have only had my car car 5 months. I will be calling on them if it is something I cannot do or feel it needs an expert.

I fitted new front brake pads at the weekend and mine will probably need an oil change in the next few months, all easily achievable at home.

Hi mate,

I'm in Warwick so very close to you and can highly recommend Modurstang. I'm guessing yours is an S650? I know they had a Dark Horse there the other day and mechanically the S650 isn't too different to the S550 so they can probably help you out :like:

No mine is a 550 - its a 2017 ecoboost and yes you are very close. I have seen one since I have been here. an Orange one on the motorway.

I dont have a proble yet haha but once its here from Canada and I can drive it its good to know a place that is not a ford Dealership to take it. I prefer private specialists.

Thanks again guys

Ahh, understood. I'd assumed it was a new one when you said it's coming across the Atlantic, importing didn't even cross my mind! There's a fair few in the local area thinking about it, not that you see them every day but they are there. If you need parts for it and you're doing the work yourself just use rockauto as our local dealer are utterly incompetent when it comes to Mustangs. The parts department guys are okay but the dealer itself has a very hit or miss reputation. A friend with a fiesta takes his elsewhere rather than trust them with it

Sadly a lot of the main dealers are rubbish, a good friend had a few problems with his Focus and booked it in while still under warranty but was told it would be a month before they could look at it but it was fine as he had told them while the warranty was valid. Car went in and the work was started. he had a call to say some of the parts would be a couple of days but they would ring him when the work was finished. After 4 days he rung and was told the parts had arrived but they would be another week before they could do the work. Another week passed and he got a call to say it was finished and the bill was £700 ish, he explained that it was warranty work and they said that it was outside the time limit. Needless to say the person who had booked it in was no longer there. Eventually after a several week battle with the dealer and Ford UK it was sorted but he still had to pay for the brake pads as they had been replaced due to them being over 50% worn and are not covered under warranty.

I avoid letting people touch my car. I'm a big advocate for doing the work yourself. You have to remember most of the work on these cars has been planned and designed in a way that is idi*t proof.

If you can invest in the right tools and yourself, it's totally worth it.

The difference between those who succeed and those who fail is persistent patience.
