Ford Extended Inventory?

Can anyone explain what "Ford Extended inventory" means when you search for mustangs around your location?

Here is an example link: http://www.inventory.ford.com/deale...rPACode=09420&planType=PRX&lang=en&branding=1

"This Vehicle is from our extended inventory. MN DLR"

Can anyone enlighten me?

I believe it is inventory from other dealers in your vicinity.

So is there a way to find the actual dealer that has that Mustang in their lot? If not, is there a fee for having another dealership source the car for you?

Change locations to other dealers in area. Or I think you can take Vin and look it up in cotus.

YES ... put the VIN number in cotus and it will tell you what dealer has the car on order or maybe even on the lot !!

As others have said you can use Cotus to find out the dealer unless it is a convertible OR you can pick a dealer, give them they VIN, and find out what it would take to get that car. Dealers do trades all the time so it might not cost much/anything (or there could be some ridiculous fee).

You can just google the Vin number and the results of the search will show you the dealer website, or you can use Cotus.
