If a dealer tells you they will search other dealers before ordering a car, are they obligated in any way to search a certain distance or certain number of dealers? The reason I am asking is that a local dealer said they did a dealer search but came back and told me they couldn't find anything. My search parameters where pretty generic (gave the dealer multiple color options and only included a few vehicle options other then the base 400A package) so I am wondering if maybe they didn't try searching very far? I am just debating whether it would be a good idea to go to another dealer and have them perform a search to see if they come up with the same results?
Also, why were are talking about searches, is there any other tools a person can use to search the dealer inventory besides the Ford website?
