The conflicting info may be because the rules changed this year according to the rep I spoke with at Anderson Kosh. I’ll call Flood and see what they tell me. Thanks

Hey Everyone,
I'm sorry to report after speaking with Flood Ford, and Anderson Kosh, it's true that the ESP's they offer EXCLUDE any performance modified vehicles...unless those modifications were done at the factory before the car rolled off the assembly line. If they were done later by a dealer, or anywhere else they are excluded from coverage. I've attached a copy of the chat transcript I just had with Flood.

Well, I don't know that this covers the third option. This was the response from your chat:

It is excluded. Package has to be installed by Ford, not dealer.

Roush in Plymouth Michigan is NOT a "dealer." They are also not the Ford assembly line. When I asked Flood via email, I was so specific, I provided my VIN and the response was that it was indeed eligible. That is a "factory" Roush RS2. Not a GT that a "dealer" installed Roush parts to, nor the car that rolled off the Ford assembly line in Flat Rock Michigan.

Look at the verbiage here:

https://heartlandfordespwarranty.com/vehicle-eligibility/

Ineligible Models

Ford
: Foose/F-150, GT, Mustang: (Cobra R, All Roush Performance Modified Vehicles (except Stage 1 and Stage 2), Shelby GT 500KR, GTS, Supersnake, Tonka, and Any Other Shelby Performance Modified Vehicles, All Saleen Modified Vehicles, Transit Connect Electric

Hello,

I'm looking to purchase an ESP on my 2020 GT. Already compared plans offered by Flood Ford and Anderson-Koch, and found the pricing to be identical. My question is would either place still sell me one if I have a factory installed Roush package? Of course I have the 3yr/36,000 factory warranty from Roush in addition to the Ford warranty. Just curious if I can still buy the ESP on my particular vehicle with the Roush package. Thanks..

Jeff
I am in the same boat now, 2021 GT w dealer installed roush blower and max mod kit. my 3/36,000 is coming up in march 2024 and i wanted to purchase an ESP from Granger ford. I'm awaiting there feedback. If i cant get warranty, I will just trade it in and get something new and never mod anything again from dealer.. Because thats all BullShit, then about warranty.........

Anthony

P.S. I wonder if catalytic converters are still warrantied under ford? I blew one last monday and it was replaced under warranty, but moving forward in futire would they still be covered??

Curious, I looked at what I had about this.

The Ford 2022 Warranty Guide does cover catlytic conveters up to 8 years and 80,000 mi / 130,000 km.

Ford Extended Warranties (Premium level in this example) appear to not support cats (see yellow block text).

Variable: The Roush SC...I'll leave this one to experts (Members, Granger or supporting dealer).

Hey,
Thanks for the reply!!! My car is a 2021, not 2022....
You would think the cats would be covered in both regardless of blower install especially from a certified FORD ROUSH dealer.. after 3/36,000 since it should be federally mandated. Hopefully others will chime in.

Thanks Anthony

Catalytic converters are covered 8 year/80k miles as is the ecu under Federal emissions laws. Some states mandate other emissions components be covered as well. Also, some manufacturers include other bits. Like Honda includes the tcu. I don't think Ford adds anything over Federal requirements.

AFAIK there are no exclusions to the Federal law about catalytic converters.

Once your 3/36 from Roush is done there is no other coverage available. If you buy a Ford ESP it will not cover anything powertrain related. Your cats are covered regardless for 8 years.

Ford catalytic converters are warranty for 8 years/80k miles. Both of mine were replaced yesterday...the mechanic broke the oxygen sensor and now awaiting the part....Supposed to arrive tomorrow.

Just spoke w ESP service contract specialist over at Granger and she stated YES the car is able to be warrantied just as long as the FORD certified dealer installed the ROUSH blower and
"As long as you purchase ESP before your vehicle hits 41 months and under 40,999 miles yes you can still purchase an esp warranty for your vehicle and powertrain is covered."
Hope this helps other Roush guys!!!
Anthony

P.S. I will be buying an ESP warranty from Granger soon.
