For the 2019 Mustang GT, the Ford engine oil recommendations are Motorcraft 5W-20 daily use or 5W-30 track use in a Synthetic Blend. I plan to use a Full Synthetic 5W-20 in either Motorcraft or other major brands such as Valvoline. Does Ford have a recommended list of approved manufacturers for the 5.0 coyote engine? If so, where is this information published?

FYI, Ford has such a list for the 6.7L diesel engine showing which oils (by manufacturer) meet the Ford spec for that specific engine. I have a 2018 F-350 6.7L and use Shell Rotella T6 Synthetic in that engine which is approved by Ford.

Technically, ford says to use spec WSS-M2C945-A (5w20). For track use WSS-M2C946-A (5w30). And for cold temps WSS-M2C947-A (0w20). Any oil that carries that spec is approved by ford. The full suite of Pennzoil and quaker state oils meet these specs and I imagine much the same from mobil1 and castrol. My preference is pennzoil, followed by Mobil1 due to the base oil technology.

Thanks to engineermike and sigintel for the informaion. The Ford spec really helped. I plan on using 5W-20 Mobil 1 Extended Performance which meets the Ford spec. Mobil state this oil is good for 15,000 mi. but I plan to run it no more than 7,500 under daily driving conditions. If I elect to run the car hard, I'll switch to 5W-30. The research Shell is doing with converting nat gas to synthetic oil is very interesting and something I'll watch going forward. Ford needs to test this product and add it to their spec before I'll consider using it.

I just run motorcraft 5w30 in mine. Don't stress too much about the oil...

The GTL oils already meet the ford spec. It is unlikely that ford will change their spec to only allow the GTL (group3+) base oils, as that would preclude the use of basically anything except pennzoil/quaker state/rotella products. The mobil1 PAO base oils (group4) are very good as well, though higher cost and good luck figuring out which mobil1 oils still use PAO. Also, ford has a long-standing relationship with castrol so I doubt they change to a spec that requires higher end base oils than the group3 that castrol supplies.
