For those with 350R Carbon Wheels

Is this normal? Inside of the front wheels - a thick white layer slightly above the outside which is in black paint.

That's the ceramic coating that is applied to the barrel and back of the spokes to protect from heat damage.

Thanks - Just making sure it was normal. I have been tracking it so just making sure as it was not on the rears. I get that the front takes more heat from the brakes, etc. Thanks again.

If I may add... keeping the ceramic nice and white is a lot of maintenance. Stay on it and they will be good over time.

There is a bunch of YouTube videos. I just remove wheel and use a scrub brush and wheel cleaner. Use the search function here, it has been beat to death

If you get to it regularly, a blast from an air hose will remove the majority of the brake dust from the inner cylinder.

On a side note, I have been meaning to ask other members with the R, have you noticed the paint bubbling towards the inner side of the barrel. Looking at the pic the OP posted I think I can see something similar to what mine have. If this is normal/common then no worries. I have my CF wheels off for the street and noticed the look of bubbling paint on several of my wheels, only in the inner barrel. Before its asked, I have only cleaned my wheels by hand with car soap.
