Part numbers & pricing is now available for pre-painted hood scoops.

All three of the parts in this GB can now be purchased from two different sources; a website...and my GB provider. Depending upon where you live -- and whether you're ordering one thing or multiple things -- the shipped cost is slightly better from the website because it offers flat-rate shipping.

Delivery times are still slightly hazy, but at least the parts can be ordered now! The big difference is this:

While you may pay a few dollars more from my provider...he will not charge your CC until he ships your item(s)...whereas the website will charge your CC immediately.

What's the website

I have a couple of things to say:

1) I have organized -- and participated in - several group buys over a period of twenty-ish years.

2) I understand that -- in order to be worthwhile -- a GB price needs to be less than that which is commonly available. Ideally, it is substantially less...but to most people (including me), even a modest saving is appealing.

3) Naturally, a retailer must agree to some sort of discount, or the GB is a non-event. (Of course there are other associated issues; supply, shipping, discount codes, methods of payment, destination(s) etc. etc.) But those are all outside the scope of a typical GB, IMO.

4) On some rare occasions a GB organizer is able to purchase his item for A LOT less than everyone else, but I have never benefitted in that manner. In fact -- since I live in Canada -- I am not even buying something from the sources I have delivered in this thread...because the currency exchange kills the savings. It doesn't just kill it - it sprays it with a thousand rounds of sub-machine gun fire then douses it with hydrochloric acid before setting it on fire. (A color-matched HS would cost me $580.79 here assuming I drove to the dealer to pick it up)

Anyway...

I contacted several sources of these parts to propose this GB. Obviously I informed the representatives that they could score a pretty big sale if they agreed to a discount. And/but only ONE of the people with whom I spoke offered a few dollars off the "typical" price...but that modest saving was almost exactly countered by the cost of shipping. Another supplier actually offered a higher price...AND higher shipping charges! :shrug:

So what's the bottom line you ask? It looks like there is no "special" price after all. The fellow I keep referring to as "my GB provider" (a FoMoCo parts counter rep.) has acknowledged that there is only one advantage to buying from him, and that is the deferred CC charge; he will not process the payment until he ships your parts.

The other option -- and he is the one that directed me there -- is buying from the website, because the website offers flat-rate shipping. But the weird part of it is - the ordered part(s) are still shipped by him from his dealership! And the charge is processed on your CC immediately...regardless of how long you may be waiting for your part(s).

So - I'm sorry - I was not successful in negotiating a better price than Joe Public gets after all. But I hope that at the very least the idea stirred up some interest! And I don't mind administrating it for another cuppla weeks...just so that the original participants can hear from me as to how they should order.
