So the factory pads squeeked with my cross drilled and slotted rotors. Now the replacement Stillen Matrix pads are squeeking worse. I have the non-perf pack brakes. The pad choices out there right now are really limited. I am hoping to find a solution that doesn't involve another set of new pads. Thank you guys for your help and knowledge..

I've found that even a little rust on the rotor will cause the brakes to squeal. Also, if it never stops squealing, make sure the brake shield didn't get bent causing it to rub on the rotor... sounds stupid, but it happened to me once

I had a squeak from mine when I bought the car. Would only happen when the car was going at a slow speed. Had the rotors replaced and never heard anything again. You guys with a squealing issue may want to look into that.

If you haven't already put some brake grease on the rear of the pads. Make sure you grease where the pins go and the slots.

Did you use new hardware?

Race car squeal, nothing wrong with that.
It’s a GT sports car.

My guess is that you guys aren't using the brakes hard enough, often enough.

Avoid long and very gradual decelerations, like you're basically riding the brake pedal with very little pressure. Light pressure between the pads and the rotors will allow more vibration to happen than when pad to rotor pressures are higher.

Try working a little fairly hard braking into your normal driving, and I'll bet that the squeaking will at least diminish. This doesn't have to be "ABS-level" or "stand the car on its nose" hard, just significantly harder than your average braking. With due regard for any following traffic, of course.

And fire back to punks that tell you to get your brakes fixed with something like "it's a race car, they're supposed to squeak". Even if it's not true, he's not gonna know.

Cross drilled and slotted rotors have to go bye bye. Last time I looked into this rotor vibration was a major part of squeal. Put in solid rotors and problem will probably go away.

I use a moly grease made by a company named Mighty. But the grease that comes with the brake pads or the stuff sold at the parts store works too.

Mighty VS7® • Synthetic Moly Lube

Part Number: BK122

Mighty VS7 Synthetic Moly Lube is formulated to provide lasting protection against friction, wear and corrosion.
Benefits: Mighty VS7 Synthetic Moly Lube protects and lubricates caliper pins, sleeves, bushings and contact points.

  • Compatible with external brake rubber and all metal and plastic brake hardware
  • Withstands temperatures from -30OF to +500OF
  • Complete with in-cap brush for easy application
  • Size - 8 oz.
