Just be careful. There is a reason it comes on sooner with the dedicated E85 tune. Crappy E85 may cause issues. I would show logs to your tuner first to see what they say
No doubt I'll be sending a few logs for the tuner to review before I put too many miles on the dedicated E85 tune. Want to be sure everything looks good before cutting loose.

i have a flex tune on mine from Livernois, they discussed how to do a "drive cycle" when switching from 93 to E85 and vice versa, and also anytime filling up with E85, as it may vary station to station. i have never tested it myself in the chicagoland area but ive heard it's generally pretty good/consistent E85. I always do the drive cycle regardless, which they instructed to drive, NOT just sit and idle, for a good 10 mins but at lower throttle/load. they said keep it under 50% throttle, i play it very safe in that regard and probably keep it lower than 30 and keep the revs down. not a big deal in all honesty to just not go balls to the walls for a little bit. i probably generally keep it to twice that length of time anyways.

my AFR on the vehicle gauge goes down to usually 11.1-11.3 ish when cruising, whereas it would be more like 13.8-14.1 on 93 while doing the same type of cruising. the livernois MyCal has a lambda gauge that i watch as well and make sure that's staying around 1 with either type of fuel. it was interesting the first time i ever went from 93 to E85 and watching the AFR gradually begin to drop. i was just cruising for probably a good 50 minutes at low load watching it drop and settle.

i have no idea the power difference between a flex and a dedicated E85 tune though, as ive never had mine on a dyno. it makes sense that the flex would be a little bit more conservative though.

Swapped to the dedicated E85 tune yesterday but have only driven about 15 miles. Feels good but haven’t pushed it too hard.

When I loaded the tune, my nguage reset and I can’t seem to find the alch % PID anymore. I had this problem after swapping to the flex tune as well but eventually did something and found it. I’ve tried resetting the gauges by choosing pre 2008 ford, post 2008 ford and the all ford option… none have the alch % PID. Is there a trick I’m missing here? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I know I’m fine as my AFR reading is hovering around 10, but would like to see what the gauge is reading as well.

Alch % was removed intentionally. I was told it's only a tool to help you with the transition. Personally I would like to see it but can deal without it.

Does your air conditioner slow down when you drive? My E85R tune will slow the blower unless I'm at a stop. Not necessarily a bad thing but unexpected.

Thanks for the info! Not sure about the air conditioner, but will test it. Hot day yesterday but still drove with the windows down and wasn’t paying attention to the air.

I just tested this ethanol it was 70 percent. I put one gallon in and now I’m going to another station. It’s always been 80-85 here in michigan on average.

70% is the money. Your trims will adjust and you’ll still reach your spark timing cap with it.

Ok thanks. The next station had between 70-75. Is it lower because it’s cold out or something? They’re normally in the 80’s range. I guess I’ll go back and fill up thanks.

It varies by delivery to each and every station.

Winter blends are said to have lower E content - don't have large enough sample but it's the thing.

Seems to be true they’re all below 80.

Nothing wrong with that. Like I said. 70-80% is the ideal %.....
I’m just saying that when it was warm out it was higher

Higher % doesn't give you anything more than more demand from your fueling once over 70%.
