Production version of that car is awful. I'd get a Volvo S90 if I was up for a big car like that.

What made the Continental iconic - the slabside - was totally ignored here. An absolute shame. It looks like it was designed for Audi, gussed up with an aftermarket grill, and then went off to be a Lincoln after getting kicked out. Just sad.

Say hello to your future limo.

Wow, that's not good at all. Praying this won't happen when I aim to get a 2019 Mustang GT.

Totally agree. Who let this one slip? Doesn't GM aggressively tune their performance cars with special tunes before magazine reviews? Seems Ford should take a cue out of GM's book and cheat a bit by giving the review car some love. This is embarassing.

Until they come up with a RWD based platform, I refuse to even look at a Lincoln.

Any insight into why this appears to be a widespread problem at Ford? The Honda Pilot we traded in our Explorer for, is a revelation in assembly quality superiority of interior and exterior clearances. Don't nobody tell me US manufacturing is to blame: the Pilot's Alabama-built (admittedly non-union, but I'll bet there are other union shops with Honda-comparable quality).

Also noticed that the Pilot is noticeably free of squeaks and rattles compared to my Mustang ('12 Explorer was commendably quiet despite asymmetric interior panel gaps).

Ford really needs to fix this one crap aspect. Otherwise nothing to complain about; great designs, capable drivetrains, good value.

^^^ Yes.

I've got a 2011 VW Tiguan in the fleet that was bought new. Every panel lines up perfectly, still looks good throughout and wearing well, and everything is still completely squeak and rattle free at 63K on the odo. And IIRC, it cost like $25K, so it's far from a premium vehicle.

Pretty ridiculous for the panel fit to be so poor on Fords these days. In addition to the panel fit mentioned above, my Mustang has an annoying intermittent interior rattle on the highway. At 3400 miles.
