Please shut it down only after having produced the EU cars, at least the one on order since 01/22 (MINE !!!) It's easier to get the latest full fledged Maserati than a Mustang ! :headbonk::shrug:

The information on the shutdown times I have posted was obtained from a Ford Assembly Plant Employee forum. It was posted in March 2015. I'm not sure if it has changed since then, the information was not accurate, or the information that the information that they are going to build mustangs throughout June is inaccurate.

Perhaps they are going to "build" them throughout June. That is, one it is "in processing" it is "being built" even though the actual assembly is not going on ie. A house is "being built" for a number of months even though it is not under active construction 24/7 for that time.

My EDD got changed to 6/3/15 from 5/20/15. Crossing my fingers that my car was not rushed and potentially had something missed.

I guess the June shutdown would explain why a bunch of us got slapped with a July 13 build week (I haven't seen anyone with a June 8-July 6 build week). I'm very interested in knowing whether it's true or not.

Is it normal for the plant to shut down in June and then open for 3 weeks before shutting down again in late July ready for production of the MY2016 model on August the 3rd?





Just wondering if it's possible that this shut down is to prepare for the production of the RHD versions?

It may be that between the 13th and 31st of July (3 weeks) that this is when they will be making the 1st batch of the RHD 2015 mustangs...
Based on 450 cars per day - over the 3 week period - they would make around 6750 cars.

My car is scheduled for 13 July week and isn't (I hope) going overseas . So the plant shut down would make sense now with me ordering in May and nothing happening until July.

All the dealers estimate more or less 8 weeks

When I ordered on 4/30/15 I was told 6-8 weeks. I drove it home 23 days later!

At that point might as well just get a 2016; you'd only have to wait about an extra month.

For me, there's nothing in the 16 worth waiting an extra month. Realistically, It would be AT LEAST 2 extra months. There's plenty of orders piled up already.

Just heard back also... 7/13. That is far too long. ordered 5/9. I was told 8 weeks I would have keys in hand, not 8 weeks then it will be built for a couple days, then shipped for a week+. At this rate I wont take delivery until August, when the 16s are being built.

Looks like its time to cancel.

I’m frustrated about a 7/13 build week too but I’m not going to cancel my order because of it. I don’t get the logic. “I’m so mad about waiting, I’m going to cancel and wait even longer!”

I haven’t even gotten a window sticker or blend week yet, just the proposed build week from FordService Jeff so I still have some hope that it could get moved up. And I hope the incentives get bumped up in early July to help us out.

Just relax, go fishing or something. Waiting longer than anticipated for my personally specked, brand new, Mustang GT to get built for me is the best problem I have ever had in my life.
