I get it. We all have some technical aspects of our own deals that make things easy or harder. I don’t even own a car at the moment. I sold my 03 GT over a month ago and I’m borrowing cars from my father in-law until my car comes. I’m really lucky that was an option and the loaners are nice. Focus ST or a 07 GT depending on what he wants to drive. Or my motorbike when its not raining but that hasnt been often.

If you can swing a deal to borrow a car for a couple month I would flat out sell what you have now and hold the cash until your car comes. You’ll get way more selling than any trade.

I think the biggest problem for me is, I don't trust my dealer. I have a car I'm trading in, that I was trying to keep the miles off of so they don't give me less for my trade. but this is like 3 months mid summer, when I was told 6-8 weeks. as for the waiting longer, at that point, if im waiting 3 months, whats an extra month for a 2016?
EDIT: And I would agree, this is a good problem to have, there are far worse issues to have.
I was in the exact same spot. Ordered 5/02 (order went through on 05/04) and put up my current 2008 v6 for a trade-in. I currently drive it daily to and from work so the 6-8 week estimate was looking at about 3200-3500 km on the car by the time my 15 was ready. I got lucky and found a coworker who wanted the car to give to his son when he's old enough. Ended up getting a better price and didn't really have to worry about the extra 3500km.

Now with the July build week, the worst I have to deal with is a coworker anxious to get his car. I keep telling him he'll have it before I have my new one.

All in all, I'm looking at 11 weeks from order is when it's scheduled to be built. So i'm estimating 12-13 weeks total til I take possession of it. I'm praying that since I'm 4 hours away from the plant, I get a fairly quick delivery time.

Hey POJ 1,

I know you're excited to get your new Pony. I've seen RHD ones start shipping out to Europe already; I don't have access to an international production schedule, however. For New Zealand inquiries, I'd recommend contacting your regional customer relationship center at: +64 (0) 9 277 8400. They'd be best able to provide any info on that. :)

the dealer knows nothing and Ford NZ are either very close lipped or know virtually nothing either except the 1st shipment is supposedly due November and will be 2015 specs.
After Flat Rock resumes production August 3 will they be only assembling LHD again or doing RHD as well in parallel?
I'm wondering if the factory isn't going to have a burst of RHD assembly during the supposed shut down period?

Hard to be patient when dealers lie to you though. My dealer won't even tell me if they have allocation. Obvious answer in that...
