my understanding is there are 2 shifts each day and I would guess it runs 6 days per week.

They make around 500 cars per day.

there is plenty of information re this sort of details contained in the Ordering Price & Tracking section of this forum.

Just think they could allocate one week to making Aus/NZ RHD's and all the 4000 Aus orders could be here by March!

I think I read somewhere that they are building approx 30 RHD cars a day.Approx 200 a week x 50 around 10,000 per year.4000 for Australia , 6000 for UK south Africa, NZ,and other RHD markets. They are stretched with local market (10,000 per month) LHD for Europe (maybe 10,000/yr) Shelby GT350 etc. they will keep steady production ,they will not ramp up only to cut back in 6-12 months.that costs money. There will not be any RHD GT350's ,not enough sales to cover engineering costs. BTW just as an aside as it now takes 3 weeks from build date to port, I guess that any car that went to the upfitters was there to get a problem fixed that they could not rectify on the production line. eg headers too close to steering rack etc. I guess that also goes for cars at dock for extended time, they may be getting something fixed.

Are you saying that the whole process has become more streamlined or slowed down?

I think they have planned it this way. That is they will meet what ever local demand is and not keep US customers waiting for a long time but for RHD and Europe it will be steady production and as initial demand steadies they will meet ongoing demand. Of course we all know they got blindsided by initial demand and they have got problems. Will they fix it ,who knows.

Don't forget Flat Rock also assembles the Fusion and from 2016 the Lincoln Continental on the same production line. Therefore Mustang production is not necessarily continuous. I also believe that non-US Mustangs are produced in batches so there will be a run of AUS/NZ cars and since only 30 RHD per day I assume these are interfixed with US cars.

These have been posted elsewhere, but well worth a look for those who may not have seen them.

Both from the same tour, obviously.
