Gday folks. I cannot get into my car.

I forgot to turn off the lights, I left them on the first mode right after the off mode, the parker lights I think.

Anyway my questions are:

Shouldnt a 2019 car automatically turn the lights off if the battery voltage gets to a certain voltage if the car is off??

Is the battery ruined or can it be saved?

Any recommendations for a particular charger?

Thanks.

Your lights will only turn off automatically when your lights are set to auto on and off. If they’re not set that way then you get a Warning chime if you leave your lights on. If you don't turn them off the battery dies. All you need to do is charge the battery with any 12volt charger, and your good to go.. Good luck Mate!!

The battery is not ruined. Jump start and go for a drive. As for a charger I would always only get a Ctek. Get the best one available and it will last a lifetime and serve you well.

Thanks folks, appreciate the feedback. Any idea what sort of battery is in the my19?

Calcium, agm/flooded or gel?

The battery charger at my local auto parts store has the 3 options to choose, not sure if it is suitable?

Do these ctek chargers require any settings or are they fully automatic, i.e plug into mains and go.

They are fully automatic, but there are some manual settings
if you wish to use them.
If you have the extra $$$ get the MX10.

It would do 12volt-6amp but would not hurt to go a bit bigger,
Ctek 12volt-10amp,best is have a look at the specs of both,
and then decide.
I personally have the ctek mx5 and the mx10 wish i had of just bought mx10 first,
would have saved me some $$.

Car should cut the power off after 10 or so minutes regardless of your headlight setting - you are correct - it is a safeguard against battery discharge. Interesting it did not.

Battery is an AGM one and you should be able to revive it using a decent charger - either Ctek or Noco
