Is there information out for a fact if Mustang’s ECU records how many times you flash the computer? Is there a “counter” and does the computer record your fastest speed driven, etc. that Ford Tech’s can dig out and discover if they wanted to void your warranty?

I ask because I don’t want to void my warranty and I know my last car, Camaro, had an ECU that can do this. Thankfully Techs never dug into it.

Thanks!

The ecu can definitely track reflashes, cycles since last flash etc. I do not recall if it stores info such as top speed though.

Thanks. It looks like it’s also easy to spot with “turn key” count?

In a nutshell..When you flash it, it starts it over.

They aren’t going to just void your warranty if you’re in for an oil change or something unrelated.

If you pop the motor and bring it to the dealership on a tune, ford will see it. If you flash it back to stock they will see the key count too low for the miles. This is all dependent on if ford wants the ecu from the dealership.

Leave it stock if you are concerned with the warranty

Yeah I run it hard on and off the track. I bought an extended warranty because it’s a Ford and my last Chevy didn’t do well.

I understand the risk and this confirms it.
Thanks for the quick answer!

You paid for the extended warranty and by my experience you will probably need it. Stay stock and hammer away. You can do some suspension work that will help it off the line.

Have you had engine failure? Yeah my last Camaro took a shit on me at 40k miles and had the engine warratied, and then took another shit at 85k. They didn’t notice the tune.

I’ll play it safe with the Mustang. And yes I’ve done suspension mods all around, the stop hop kit really helped. I just need stickier tires now. I am considering a CAI without a tune

Skip the CAI if not going tune. Use the $ for good tires, more suspension goodies or weight reduction.

I have had my clutch, tob, pilot bearing, transmission, timing chain tensioners, now water pump replaced with only 30k miles on my 16'.
Have no clue how healthy or unhealthy the engine is. I plan on going with a supercharger in a few months but will pay to have a full diagnostic done on engine before.

I second no CAI. The stock air intake is actually better as it keeps your AITs down. You can dremel out the front honeycomb on your grill to the air inlet to give you more intake. I did that. Not sure if it helped but there was only like 5 open holes.

I just bought some oem replacement tires 255/40/19 Continental dws06. Those things just grab and go. If you do road course I wouldn't recommend them because they have a tad softer sidewall than the stock P zero neros.

I have a staggered Velgen wheel set with 275/305s in back for summer and those dws06 hook just as good.

On my existing NA flex tune my 315 Nitto 555 G2 break loose all the time. Upgraded my half shafts so can run Nitto 555r in the rear especially with FI on the horizon. Just sucks gotta drop to 305 since they don't make 315 in those. But that DR seems to give the best of both worlds where itll hook but not be deadly if caught in the rain lol.

I can't break my 305s loose for the life of me. Also Got the G2s. I would bet my savings this car is way down on power.

Oh wow, that’s a lot of warranties. Thanks I’ll keep an eye out for this.

Yeah replaced my grill, I have plenty of air coming through.

My Nitto G2 305s hook ok
