+1 on exhaust before lighting or any other mods. I did mak xpipe with slp lm2 to add volume with civilized deep tone and its far more enjoyable to drive now. Also did bmr sp080 springs and love the stance now! :headbang:

Disclaimer: Once you start its veeery hard to stop. Im looking really hard towards the frpp boss style xpipe (miss a bit of rasp as I had roush on my previous stang), mgw shifter, bmr cradle lock kit, and it goes on and on...:headbonk:

Not sure what your budget is but I added a Roush axle-back, J&M X pipe, and Steeda CAI for $1030 total. Next I went with GT350r springs, Koni Sports, and BMR cradle lockout. I think it cost me about $1050 for the suspension stuff (still waiting to install these parts).

exhaust! the stock does the V8 NO justice. it is simple and easy to do on your own. it will put a smile on your face every time you push that start button!

I personally would do (and did do) the "stop the hop" type mods pretty early on-- IRS braces, alignment sleeves/spacers, etc. Once you start adding power (and even at stock power levels), you're gonna want to be able to put it to the ground more effectively and not rip up your IRS in the process.

Steeda jacking rails ... they are a gateway part, lol, will help get you into other mods!

Budget will help play into so will your desire to either go for power or handling ... happy to assist if you need support.

Best Regards,

TJ

I have the same car as you. I chose Borla catback and upgraded to PP rims/tires bought used from another member. For my first mods.

Compared to my C6 Vette.... the mustang is garbage at putting power down.

Exhaust Always First !

Then follow up with CAI & Tune, Shifter, Drive Shaft, Suspension etc ...
Then do the exterior / interior upgrades !

Just did my exhaust today. Ford Performance sport cat back with GT350 rear Valance. Expensive yes, but sounds killer and looks fantastic on the car. As soon as I started the car I had a smile on my face.

Besides, exhaust upgrades on these cars are so simple. Had the factory off in 10 minutes and the entire installation done in right around three hours doing all the work by myself. If I were you that is where I would start!

I'm thinking that will be my starting point as well. That, and exhaust.
