I put gas in it and drove it to Nashville recently, hows that? So, you did nothing?? Add a horn?? Hood Struts..Glass ?? Nothing!! Wow, good for you!
Gas mileage??? So you drove it from Michigan??I put gas in it and drove it to Nashville recently, hows that?
I too will be leaving mine completely standard, forever. A numbered future classic, unmolested and just as the maker intended, what's not to love about that?I think I'll just leave mine alone for a while and admire it for what it is. It is almost perfect the way it is.
Yup, 8 1/2 hours of fun each way. Not sure on the mileage. I never paid attention to that. The way I drove it, I'm sure it wasn't good.Gas mileage??? So you drove it from Michigan??
I applaud your choice...glad you like the single horn too. However....as a future “Classic” ...I dunno?? Look at the 2015 LE models, 1964 made.. you can buy one pretty cheap right now! By the time the BULLITT is finished production...maybe what 10,000 units? 2019-2020 models ...IMHO... it will only be a “Collector Piece” if you leave all the plastic etc, etc it comes with...put it in a bubble...store it in your heated garage.....then wait about 25yrs....then maybe, just maybe you might make a couple of dollars. This does not sound like a whole lot of fun....to me any way!!I too will be leaving mine completely standard, forever. Yeah but The LE models aren't sexy dark highland green. I bought mine to drive, saves the miles on my shelbys and boss. They didn't get that many units in the UK, probably gain value leaving it cherry. If you could get the import/export license, go around pick up all the extra Bullitts lying aroung here, add 15K Pounds ADM to each one and sell em there.I applaud your choice...glad you like the single horn too. Having said that, try to at least enjoy what you have....you will drive it occasionally.....right??
You sir are a glass half empty kind of guy.Fixed that bit for you.

Well, that joke went over your head....We all understand you are the official site spell checker...definition corrector....error corrector....etc, etc...However, maybe he did mean “Maker Intended” I liked that term better. Pls do not “fix” any of my posts. Thanx. @bjstang @Dare2goBare ...
I’m with you voodoo do what you want, how you want and it’s nobody’s business to judge. If the car actually ever becomes some sort of high dollar collector car (like in 100 years or so, When cars run on kryptonite or something) it can ALWAYS returned to stock.@Schwerin ...deleted my post....sorry! I just don’t understand why if a guy wants to do something to his BULLITT...everyone goes crazy! You can’t do this...you can’t do that etc...I should just let it go but it’s hard for me! It’s a car....plain and simple...do whatever you want to it! But for the ones that say..”No you can’t” .. well, yes he can...his choice his money his car. Then if they don’t agree....just say nothing!!
Sorry for the slam!! Guess I need a beer and chill!!...Cheers !![]()
Ironically, what no one bought, and you NEVER see was the '79 Pace Truck. Now THOSE are hard to find. I think my gramps still has the unused door decals to his old 79 truck in his garage.I’m with you voodoo do what you want, how you want and it’s nobody’s business to judge. Truthfully I feel sorry for the guy that doesn’t drive his BULLITT for fear of putting mileage on it, is afraid to alter it in any way, get caught in the rain, etc... only to find out in 20 years that’s it’s just another old mustang.
If anyone here is familiar with corvettes; the 1978 pace car is a great example of a car that was expected to be priceless, fanatics paid over double for them new... now 40 years later if you had one that was kept in a bubble you MAY be able to sell it for what you paid in ‘78... maybe. Meanwhile when it was the cool car on the street and the coolest ones had hooker side pipes and cragar ss with 50’s on the back yours sat in the garage, missing the spotlight when it mattered... bad choice imo.
