Went to Imoklee 1/8th mile track for the first runs on my new 2019 gt base 301 pp1 ae 10 a. The only mods are delron virtical links from bmr and the basic stop the hop kit from steeda. I weigh 270 and had 7/8 tank of gas in it.
I put 44 psi in the fronts and dropped the backs to 22 psi. Michelin s4 tires.
My best pass came at 3pm with1860 density altitude and a 10 to 12 mph crosswind.
60 ft 2.0454
330. 5.5037
1/8th 8.2773
Mph. 89.34
So with a fat guy in the seat, almost a full load of gas, 1860 da and a nasty crosswind, i am not sure what to think. Thoughts? I would like some full 1/4 mile slips to compare to. Whatcha got?

Was track prep bad? I recall in another thread. You said you were a very experienced racer. My first outing with the 15. I managed a 1.89 on a run and a couple more 1.9s. On the all season tires that the car came with. Aired down to 25psi.

I think 8.20s given the tires and weight are good for an average run on a stock car.

It felt like it hooked off the line then spun on the 1/2 shift. I was in drag mode, footbrake to about 1800 rpm then after the 1/2 shift shifted from sport to drive,. Started with the shifter in sport on the best pass to see if a softer 1/2 shift would help. It did get better as the first two passes were 2.08 then 2.06. For sure the things that killed some of the performance was a full tank of gas plus my 270 lbs and pp1 extra wieght? The car was run fully warmed up, no cooldown time. Weather was 1860 da with a 10 to 12+ cross wind which doesn't help much either. I was hoping for a 7.99 at about 91 mph based off results i have seen from others.
They were spraying the track. I may have been too agressive on the burnout. No smoke but i put a bit of heat in the michelins.

Was this recent? Are your tracks still open up there?

My car never went dead stock. I ran whatever fuel the dealer put in the tank out and swapped to e85.

I went with e85 and a tune with all else dead stock and went 11.82@119+ on factory 18" wheels and tires. My 60' was a 1.82 which helps a ton down track. I'm 250lb myself and ran with about 1/2 tank of fuel but we are close.

Based on what I've seen from others I don't think you are far off considering it's dead stock.

The run was at Imoklee 1/8th mile track in Florida.
Tracks in Minnesota close mid October or earlier.
Is your car optioned with performance pack 1? Those 15 inch heavy brake rotors have to hurt ET maybe twice what the increased weight added. I plan on going to a test and tune night so I can try different things. Did you do anything to cool down your car between runs?

No, I have a base car but the stock brakes are only a few lbs lighter than the PP cars and I don't have drag mode. I've put the Bear brakes on it since then and those saved considerable weight.

I just left the hood up in the staging lanes but it was fully warm when it ran. The IAT's were ~100° pulling into the burnout box.

Honestly, e85 and a tune was worth so much it's unreal for the cost and ease of installation. My car went 7.7 to the 1/8th and I'd bet most of that difference was from this.

Immokalee is not the best for 60ft. I'm local, and I too go to Immokalee. I MIGHT go this Friday. When I was stock, (2018 Non PP/401A With all bells and whistles except Magna ride) my best on pirellis was an 8.5 at 91 mph with an ugly 2.2 60 ft.

I went afterwards, but now with Mickey Thompsons and a flex tune and managed a 7.5 at 96.XX, best I could get was a 1.82 60ft.

This past week, same setup, I went to Bradenton motorsports to try at the 1/4 and managed an 11.389 at 123.23 with a 1.71 60 ft, which translated to a 7.38 at the 1/8 at 97.22.

These cars are very very impressive, I'm shooting for an 11.2 as she sits, I need to get a 1.6X 60ft and I'll get my 11.2.

Orangefury one that is some great performance! From your post it sounds like i did ok with all the disadvantages for the day. Does Bradenton require a driveshaft loop for a stock gt with a10? The rules they post aren't very clear. I want to go up there and try the 1/4. Also do they prep the track at all for t&t?

Thank you! Yes I think you did pretty good for it being at Immokalee. Only thing they will require is a helmet. Last week was the first time going to Bradenton and I did not need anything else except a helmet. They do prep the track, I felt like they went over it a little too much haha. I mean it’s a good thing, except you’ll be in the lanes waiting a while before your next run. It is way stickier than Immokalee that’s for sure.

Yea immokalee is not good for prep. You might be able to hook on an NA car if you have DRs but on stock rubber you’re not going anywhere. PBIR or Bradenton is where it’s at.

I was in the blue '19 trying to get 11's that day at Bradenton.

Are you just tuned to get that 11.3?

Let me know when you go next and I'll say hi!

I did see that! I was sitting in the lanes waiting when I saw you run. Is it stock?

MAK Cat deletes, tune and E85 with a tire. Everything else completely stock.

Will do! Think it might be a while before I go back up to Bradenton. I’m from south FL so it’s 120 miles one way for me.

I think next time I’m going to palm beach, I’ve been seeing that a lot of ppl have ran better times there so we will see!

I'm stock other than 275 Street E/Ts, first time out on them actually.

I'm tempted by a tune but I'm nervous of engine problems and potential warranty denial. E85 seems like a big inconvenience for the gain too.

What power are you running?

I'm in Tampa, it's a 60 mile drive for me too but we're there most drag events!
