Started my car up tonight and boom CEL came on. P0300 random misfire code...loved seeing it. Car has unleashed tune, mmr intake and magnaflow cat back. Car has 5k on it. So I flashed back to stock and drove the car 45 minutes home without any issues. Why would my car throw a misfire code ? Only issue I've really has with the car besides the damn IC pipe blowing off about once a month...

A few of the tuners here have recommended swapping out the stock plugs for a set one step colder. You did regap them though at least so you'd think you'd be okay.

Whole lot of information on misfires on this forum! As far as the IC piping blowing off get some T-bar style clamps or go to a big rig supply house and get the clamps they use on their turbo piping.

There's a thread here just for this CEL. Lots of owners getting it even unmodified. I believe there's a fix from the dealer. I had it too, but like a lot of others who had it, it just went away on its own.

cleared mine twice after gapping plugs. Thinking it was bad fuel, hasn't come back in two months.

Came back on this afternoon again. Put a little over a 100 mile since I switched back to the stock tune. Went to start my car up a few minutes ago and the CEL came right back on... I've been doing some searching on the forums and see its fairly common...

hmmm, I don't think you can track missfires with the SCT... Ask Torrie for the PIDs

also, make sure that your coils are pushed all the way down and sealed. could get moisture in there or oil runoff when you change it. BMW problem that could easily happen here.

I'm going to call them on Monday and see when I can drop it off. There's a few other minor issues I want them to look at...I'm reset it back to the stock tune. If they reflash the computer will it affect me when I flash it back to my tune ?

Received the CEL upon startup on June 25. The following was performed on June 26th:

"2354 TSB P0300, Reprogram PCM"

So far so good. Fingers crossed.
