FiOS or Direct TV

Hey, I currently have FiOS for my TV and internet. However, ever since we have moved into our new home in December, we have had nothing but issues with the TV sevice. It continuelly loses connection with the VMS and Verizon has screwed my account up so bad that I can't even order pay per view. I tried to order UFC 183 and sat on the phone for 2 hours with Verizon and spoke with 5 different people. This Saturday will be the 3rd time that we have had a tech come out. I don't have any issues with their internet so I am going to keep that service. However, what do you think about cancelling the TV and going with Direct TV? The only other cable provider that we have in my area is Brighthouse and their equipment sucks. At least with Direct TV I will get the NFL sunday ticket. I'll get to watch my Dolphins get beat all of the time.

I may be biased but I love DirecTV. Been with them for 17 years and have zero complaints.

I am a die-hard Minnesota Vikings fan and living in Atlanta, the only way I can watch them is with the NFL Sunday Ticket. I have the new Genie setup with 2TB (I think it is 2TB) of space on the main unit. We have 7 TV's in the house and they all perform with no issues. I highly recommend DirecTV!!

I had great luck with fios, so hopefully you can get it worked out. DirecTV sucks down here - expect it to go out regularly during our afternoon thunderstorms - right when the Fins are getting beat early in the season. ;)

So, I got my Verizon bill today and they double billed me for the UFC 183 that I didn't get to watch through Verizon, $64.99 x 2... They are done! I am going to keep them until July and then cancel for direct tv.

Switched to DirecTV a couple of years ago...love it!! No issues whatsoever.

I have had DirecTV for years and love it. No problems. With FiOS, I think it's still copper from the street into your house, so your bandwidth drops sharply for video.

Not sure about FL, but here in MD, FIOS is fiber to box at your house. Coax for TV, Ethernet for internet and regular phone line (if you have resdential phn) into the house....I had DirectTV after Comcast gave me stellar treatment. Like DirectTV when we could get it. Rain, snow, heavy leaves would kill signal.... Make sure you get good line of sight w/DirectTV...you may need to cut down or trim back some trees....good luck!
