Seems like that first 1000 miles creeps by pretty slow. :D

I'm jealous that you averaged 20mpg. Either you've got a highway commute or babied it for the first 1k.

Or maybe I just had too much fun...

I'm about 70/30 highway (55mph, not intersate) and didn't drive too hard. I hit 7k once at about 500 miles.

The only crazy thing I've done is missed 4th and hit 2nd while passing on a two lane at WOT.

I just hit my 1k after heading back from work today. I think I'm like at 1003 right now...You have to be driving a minimum 80% highway or you drive where there is not a lot of stop and go. The best I've done is 16mpg

I averaged 22mpg (with a 80/20 highway/city split) cruising at 80mph before I got my exhaust.

Ever since I got my Borla S-Type, I'm averaging 18-19mpg because I'm harder on the throttle, and I find I'm taking the back roads to work more often instead of the interstate. And I usually cruising with the windows down (even at 95 degrees)... probably doesn't help fuel economy, but the AC is off, so it's probably a wash.

The best I've seen was 19.8 mpg average on a road trip to and from Houston (~250 miles each way, plus some city driving while there). My cumulative average since purchase (~2200 miles) is 15.7 mpg; my weekly average is about 14.9 mpg. I admittedly have a lead foot, and I love the sound of the Roush exhaust so I tend to run one gear lower than I should.

That said, no one buys a performance car for its fuel efficiency (except maybe i8 buyers, but that's a completely different beast). I'm not particularly satisfied with my 14.9, but I accept that I am the greatest factor among the variables affecting that calculation.

How much do you have to get on it to really drop it down to the mid teens for MPG? In a 30 minute commute, I like getting on my car for a decent pull 3-4 times. Just trying to get an idea what to expect.

Got 23.6 on a road trip this past weekend. That was cruising at 75-80 on the highway. I just turned 1700 miles.

I drive hard and I am at 16.9 lifetime at just 5000 miles. There are a lot of things that dictate MPG though so it is hard to say what you will get. I got 18.1 lifetime on my 14 V6 with mostly the same driving habits (though I can not drive the GT as hard all the time).
