Hey guys, I'm gonna get Xpel ppf on my car in the next couple of weeks. The car is street driven only and will see no track use. I intend to get full front bumper, FULL hood, partial fenders, headlights and side mirrors.

Are there any other areas I should get based on street use? I have Project 6GR wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 tires that are rock magnets! Maybe areas ahead or behind the rear wheels?

Thanks for the help!

Area just in front of rear wheels is a major one.

Your plan on the Xpel is good. Before paying $$$$ to put xpel on all the fenders, I would consider these products. They work great and took about an hour to install. I had never installed any type of film before and found it to be pretty easy. I would never attempt a hood or front bumper though. Leave that to the professionals!

Not sure if the front pieces will fit the GT350 fenders, but it's worth looking into.

This is actually what I did after applying a ceramic coating to my car. Make sure you get the extra piece for the rear wheels in the second link. I applied them wet with a slip film spray though, and looking back I should have just applied them dry.

I second these, pretty easy to install, and they help a lot.

Thanks for the responses! Yes, the Anchor-room pieces are a lot less $$$ look fairly easy to put on. And they're in a pretty inconspicuous place.

I did my A-Pilars with Xpel on top of your planned areas. Also did the roof since I like parking under trees and the birds always like to doogie on it.

What about the rocker panel, is that painted? And does that get abused?

Just ordered those pieces, thanks. I already have full frontal which I did from a kit on ebay with 3m pro stuff.

For all that have chimed in, did you have Xpel over the stripes or up to them?

FWIW I wrapped the entire car in SunTek Ultra https://instagram.com/p/BhxsP2oDVn4/

Best decision I've made so far on this car...

2017 GT350 now gone to a great home.

My Xpel is over the stripes and in between them, but they are all separate pieces. That is, it starts and stops at the stripes with a new piece, plus the narrow painted area between the two stripes is also a separate piece.

Thanks Key01. My installer wants to do 1 solid piece or just the areas on both sides of the stripes leaving the stripes and area in between with nothing. He said if he does one solid piece, I could have areas near the edge of the stripes that bubble a little or a little cloudy from the soap the use!

If he does just to the outer portions of the hood, it will leave the stripes vulnerable. :(

He's the only Xpel installer in my area and yet when I emailed Xpel, they said it should be done in separate strips over the stripes! :headbonk:
