FINALLY, up close with a 2016 Tech Pack

As promised in another thread, I made my way down to Al Piemonte Ford in the Chicago suburbs.

I met up with John (the sales manager). GREAT guy! Not only did he let me take the pictures that you'll see below, but we talked for a while about Mustangs - he's a big enthusiast as well.

A few points to note:
- No puddle lights from what I can tell (the first pic is of the under side of the mirror
- This car came by convoy, not rail; which could explain the expeditious shipping time
- The key fob looks SUPER cool! John had to personally track them down for about 10 minutes before I could get the car unlocked
- The pillar brace - doesn't look much different from he Track Pack brace
- The big one...the dask placarded. As you can see, the dash placard does NOT match the VIN; which seems to make sense, as rumor has it that the 16s are not being produced in VIN sequence. My guess is that the dask placard denotes the true sequence # versus the VIN.

Unfortunately, I did not. The seats were still covered in plastic and I didn't want to risk moving them. I was just happy to be shooting pictures in the car.

Although, it looked like "GT350" was embossed on the upper part of the back support (the leather trimmed piece). It was either on the that or the headrest.

G is for the model year. G = 2016 while F = 2015

Similar to the 10th character in the VIN.

Seems like this specific car got a lucky production line bonus.... the strut tower brace on a Tech Pkg unit.

They all have them, the R and track pack cars get lighter aluminum braces. This one is rolled steel

We've been over this a several times in various threads. Even the base car gets a brace. Base/Tech get the stamped/rolled steel brace. Track/R get the lightweight aluminum brace. AKA every GT350 has a tower brace.

Steve16 is 100% Correct.

And for the record, these are STB (Strut Tower Braces) not a Pillar Brace as previously stated.

All do, It's just the track that has a lighter aluminum brace.

As I've also previously stated, when Ford gets sane about GT350 parts prices (hopefully, someday) I plan to get the lightweight brace and track pack spoiler for my tech pack car.
